Nice safe mini-game. Concept is great, but to some players there is no value in spending time there. As the Runecrafter for an Ironman group, I thought the outfit would be a great thing to have. That is until I spent too much time figuring out that there is no return on time invested. I am averaging between five and six hundred points a game split between cataclysmic and elemental. Maybe I am just playing the game wrong.

I have completed 37 games and I am averaging just north of 4 pearls per game. The complete outfit is 1600 pearls or 400 games. At the current average game time plus wait time (unless someone eliminates this by playing straight through) of 7 or 8 minutes the outfit would take over 50 hours of solid game time to obtain. I can craft a lot of runes in 50 hours of play. I hope this doesn't end up being just more dead content.

TLDR: Fun game. Many will enjoy. Those seeking the outfit may not think it's worth the time invested.

I'd just like to say: absolutely brilliant quest. Splendid effort. I really enjoyed it and it's a great introduction to a great minigame.

Moreover, the Stone of Jas-- sorry, Mysterious Stone/Eye of Saradomin was handled really well. In theory, I could've known or suspected from the onset that the Eye was referring to that one important Eye in the narrative of the game. But I didn't! I obviously recognised the floor pattern in the temple but not until the Eye was mentioned directly in the vision did I make the connection. Excellent job!! I love being deceived like that. The writing is also perfectly in harmony with Movario's notes (who first mention the Eye and the scarce mentions of the Stone in various sources) and the RotM revelation that Zamorak started the God Wars because Saradomin had taken the Stone from him. I lost interest in the Stone since Missing Presumed Death in RS3 but it's been rekindled! Excellent way to use this random ‘evil eye decoration’ on the Tower; kudos for this. Would be interested in seeing how WGS would be changed were it to be backported into OS.

Apart from that, the reference to the Mage Training Arena (whilst it did not feature in the quest, the rune guardians begged a mention), Traiborn's personality and branch of magic as in previous encounters, the apprentice system from the novels, the NPC Contact gag, Asgarnia Smith's rôle, the involvement of the ZMI as more than just Muahaha Evil Zamorakians... All in all, an excellent job. I've got my suspicious about this Miss Persten, though; will keep an Eye on her. Wherever she is...

I hope we'll get a sequel to this quest, delving further into the history of magic and runecrafting and the Abyss. There's many ways to expand: the MTA, obviously, but also the ZMI operation at the Ourania altar, the Arceeus clan, the Moonclan, heck, even Brimstail's research. Very excited indeed.

Barring the few polishes that the minigame needs, a splendid update overall!
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

Love the new update changes, it will really help out with me Dcing on mobile and losing all my progress in the minigame! I’m sure you’ve heard this a lot but runecrafting being such a majestic and beautiful imaginative skill you could honestly go so much further with the looks of the Abyssal protector pet. Just a humble opinion. I smell the blood of a Jagex forum.

I feel that the drop rate for the lantern is significantly too high. This is an item that only functions within the minigame similar to the Hallowed Sepulchre, but whereas my estimate for acquiring all tools at 50 marks/hr gets you every tool in 13 hours, I'm currently at 16 hours with 800k xp gained but only 300/700 of the drop rate. This has been consistent mass games getting 6-10 points per game and 50k xp/hr most of which has been with the colossal pouch.

Even hitting the drop rate for me means that I'm getting ~ 1.9m xp before seeing this item, and I can't imagine going 2-3x the drop rate again, for something that is useless outside this specific content.

I think the solution would either be to reduce the drop rate, or have a cap like vorkath head or kq head where you're guaranteed the drop at some point.

Maybe a bit late for feedback since it's already wednesday but here we go. The minigame itself is an absolute blast and it's just minor details.

The lantern drop rate just feels too rare and the idea with a cap like Vorkath's head sounds appealing. This might seem a bit biased since i'm playing an ultimate, but I'd love to be able to store it. We already have Amy's saw, Bruma Torch and the Imcando hammer in the costume room, so it could fit in there. An alternative being a system like we have in Hallowed Sepulchre.

Besides more outfits for the recolours there doesn't seem to be much more to spend pearls on. Buyable portal talismans like we get in the minigame could be a great addition. Could be combined with those not being removed after each game, maybe even a box to collect talismans with or again the Sepulchre system.

Lastly, the window for joining games could be adjusted a bit, too. Something like: only being able to join after starting if there's already more than 10 people inside to prevent crashing, be it malicious or just nooby.
