Great job cluttering up the GE - those pictures in the newspost look horrendous.

Just what the game needed - a tax on everyone that only helps pvmers. I'm sure noobs love their lobsters and their coal deflated.

You're right. I'd remove the taxation cap and let the system take the full 1% off sales of high-end gear. It's only fair the richest players pay their fair share to support the system.

The update on skulltricking is very very good, just tested it myself and tried to break it. The mechanic with barrage in multi is very cool.

As a solo pker/wildy pvmer, I see the wilderness changes taking place and I am very pleased. Can't wait for singles plus and longer pj timer! Keep it up guys, I don't think the community realizes how helpful these changes will be to the wilderness. Singles clans ruin the wilderness for everyone and selfishly despise these changes.

Lol... do we really need to use IRL political talking points for the game?

Here's mine: No taxation without representation! Reeeee!

Now seriously: GE tax is good update. I could see how capping the tax is fine - this update alone is probably exponentially increasing the gold and items taken out of the game. More (other than eventually including more items) may not be necessary.

When a taxed trade takes place through the Grand Exchange, part of the taxes paid will be consigned to a virtual coffer. An automatic system will then use those funds to purchase specific items,
chosen by us
.

just wondering, why do you guys get to have all the say about what gets removed from the game and what doesn't, what about all that power to the players you always talk about.

now I'm not saying players should have all the power, but you shouldn't have all the power either, there should be checks and balances, you might update and manage the game but without us players, if everyone quit tomarrow it wouldn't be worth much, this is our game just as much as it is your game and i know you dont think so but its true,

zenyte shard / jewlery?
primordial/pegasian/eternal boots,
infinity robes
zulrah scales
harmonised orbs/other orbs
inquisitors helm/chest/legs/mace
justicar armour
barrow armour
dragon Warhammer
all godswords
abyssal bludgeon
draconic visage (its pitifully cheap right now)

lets make runescape pvm great again. Please.

Jagex have gone on record stating they don't poll updates that affect game balancing or unintended effects like glitches. Enjoy the taxation, bro.

yo dont tell me to "enjoy the taxation bro" dont come at me passive aggressive like some karen? this thread is to be used to discuss the UPDATE, not for YOU to try to stir up drama and try to get people upset. First of all im not your bro. And you know that. Second of all, this is a supply and demand economy. If i dont want to pay 1.6b for a harmonised orb then I dont have to. Now look at it. Its 600m. a much more reasonable price. Now I bought one. They have no business coming into the free market and boosting the price back up to 1.6b. That isn't balancing anything. That's manipulation. and further more
taxes for the church, taxes for the mayor taxes for the sherrif, taxes for the king... its a wonder there is anything left to eat,
does it look like i've struck gold here?

with that logic, why don't we just remove the taxation cap completely, and while we are at it, tax all players who have over 100m net worth at 50%-75% tax rate, in the ge. Make them pay their fair share, like you said, after all no one who earns all that money and puts in the man hours required and dedication should get to keep it all. Like you said, They ought to "pay their fair share" and subsidize for all the LAZY ge beggers and grifters who stand around not adding any value to the economy.

I have been playing this game almost since the beginning. I quit when the EOC came out. I started playing again after the launched OSRS. At this rate the game is getting a little far away from OLD SCHOOL RUNESCAPE. that been said i do like alot of the updates like new bosses, dungeons, weapons/armor ect. thats cool.

one of the most original things about this game that fascinated me when i first started playing was the wilderness. in fact i think it was what really made the game what it was, exciting, beyond just endless skilling, especially in its early years. the pk skull update protecting "lure victims" and "PVMer's that want to PVM in the wilderness but not risk there shit" is soft, and disgraces what the game used to be. it takes away from the intense situations that have players sitting in the edge of there seat, the shit that alot of people play this game for. THE WILDERNESS IS DANGEROUS, you have to be careful when you are out there, dont go out there with your bank/best shit if you arent prepared to loose it. peroid. doesnt matter if you are getting pked or lured if you got out there and loose your shit it is your fault. not the person who Pk'd you. and if you dont like that then stay out of the wildy and go pvm somwhere else, or play a different game. like mabye RS3?

As far as the GE tax. thats a kick in the balls. thanks jagex. find another way to balance the market if you think it is really necessary. i pay enough taxes in real life dammit. it takes some of the fun out of the game. especailly because i love to merch.

i dont provide much feed back on these forums because 99% of the times you guys up their at jagex are actually killing it, and doing a great job with this game, and i just keep on clicking. i hope you can appreciate this rant lol. i Know jagex doesn't want people playing a different game. But i dont either, i just want to play Old School Runescape.

A couple of things I would like to mention. I've seen these things in steam client.

First, i really like the direction the steam client has gone. The added features make me use it over RL more and more.

However, there are still some things that do not work well.

Potion timers do not display well. While the level boosts are displayed correctly, the timers go down way faster than they actually do (for example COX potions such as prayer enhance and overloads, but also stamina potions). I had hoped future updates would fix this issue but it has been like this for a couple of months.

Furthermore, the last update has included a couple of things that were not listed in the patch notes. First of all, the vial/potion models have changed (in my opinion for the worse). It is now slightly harder to distinguish potions in a glance with the top white part being present in all pots. The super strength and empty vial are almost identical now (mobile still uses the old and better models).
It is a minor thing and i probably could get used to it, but why change what's already good? Also why are minor grammatical error fixes in dialogues seen once per account listed in the 'other changes' section while more relevant things like potion model reworks do not even make it into the patch notes?

Lastly, I have noticed some animations are weird now. I do not know if these things were supposed to happen or if something bugs them out. Examples: dragon hunter lance attack from running makes it do a weird shove/punch instead of the usual lunge. Furthermore I have seen strange animations on general Graardor. When he gets hit with a ranged attack, he has a weird spasm type animation with his right arm. Also the clang attack he does doesn't look right.

Anyone else have these issues?

Of course I could be mistaken on some of these points and if so, let me know.

These taxes are fine for PvM items, or items above a value of like... 1M.
But to have these on skilling supplies makes every skill so much more expensive, for example herblore, smithing, crafting.
Smithing rune platelegs used to be 200 gp profit, now it turns into 200 gp loss.
Air battlestaves used to be around 200 gp loss, now turns to 300 gp loss.

Unfortunately, because Jagex considers this update an “integrity change,” they’re not going to poll it nor care about player feedback from their own forms (I think about 90% of the time they’ll check twitter+reddit). Additionally, they’ll be looking strictly at whatever development metrics they use in order to determine how the game is affected, from what I can tell.

I understand they and others are concerned about the state of the economy, but they made an “integrity change” when:
Group Ironman got released
Nex and torva got announced
Leagues are scheduled for January (Or sometime early 2022 I forgot when already because I’ll probably just renew memship…though idk if I will yet)
Duel Arena got capped

I don’t know about you, but within that moment, if I don’t pay for memship with a subscription, I’d sell some of my high-end items to buy lots of bonds and try all this new content. Plus with duel arena caps I’m probably losing less money and less quickly and can buy even more things.

All of these things point to our current deflation in the higher-end items.

Additionally, slayer has very generous drop tables, which mean a lot of these items can come into game quickly (let’s be real, our community is too good at this game).

I would’ve considered an integrity change being an adjustment on drop tables OR strictly a gold sink only with that tax.

This item sink manipulates current item values and is influenced by jagex’s choices, which I don’t like nor consider an integrity change. And I am also upset by it.

"The Rich and Powerful have too much money!" *Taxes everybody*

The tax should only be for premium/high end content. Your punishing casual, low level, and new players as well as the anyone who doesn't boss or PK.

If players are bringing in too much money, then look into rebalancing combat drops and make production skills actually worth investing and training.

Feels like your avoiding the problems.
