Currently, you can log into a RS3 friend chat. I use this feature to log into my RS3 clan. Will that still be available or will I lose the ability to connect to RS3 clans?

This. How will the OSRS clan system be able to interact with the RS3 one? In particular, clan chat.

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

Very exciting - I can't wait!!

I have been running a clan since late 2018, and one of the biggest struggles by far has been maintaining ranks, recruitment, keeping track of members coming and going, people taking breaks and having to reassign roles, etc. It's very difficult all for one single person to manage.

This is an excellent and far more secure and efficient solution to sharing a single clan account between clan admins, or having to create long and running "to-do" lists for the clan owner to attack every time they log in. With these updates, the responsibilities will be much easier to delegate amongst a trusted team of clan leaders.

Thanks for the update! ^_^

I'm glad this is coming. I ran a clan around 2010-2012 and some of my best memories of pre-eoc are from that clan. Hopefully this would help me get back into clanning. RIP Forums :(
Finally we have signatures in the surprise forum update. I'm Lewis, I play Old School & I've been playing since 2005.

There is a recruitment section for OSRS clans under the OSRS section of the forums.

Looks like OSRS is looking more and more like RS3. I wish this update the best and
hope it goes smoothly.

New to forms, this is my first post? OSRS player.

I watched the live stream re-run on twitch and read the new blog about clans.

I understand only so much can be added to this first Clan up date.

I have a suggestion of adding a shared Loot Chest, in the clan hall.

With this chest you could set a limit to which ranks are allowed access to it, and maybe also how much is allowed to be withdrawn, in gp value, per 24 hours or other set times.

To prevent "Bank Standing" skills, only plug in the items allowed to be stored in the chest.

Examples of such items: potions, armour, weapons, food, Gold Pieces, etc.

I am not a programmer, but it might be easier to say which items are allowed rather than list each item that is not allowed?

I am confident that there are others on this form who could add to the idea and or explain it better.

I really hope at the very least this is a future update, as it would make bossing and raiding go much smoother and faster via clans.

Thank you everyone who is working on this update, we the players are so excited for it !

Cheers :)

Is there any update on how the clan naming system will work.

Will there be any consideration for existing clan’s, or will it purely be on a first come, first serve basis?

Hi there. I mentioned a few weeks ago other interests you could include to tag clans. Since then, talking with other players in-game and thinking to myself, I've learned the following:

- There's actually legitimate interest in a clan that meets up sometimes to play unpopular minigames or use now-irrelevant training methods simply for the heck of it. I'm talking: rat pits, Burthorpe games room, trouble brewing, assorted mines across all of Gielinor that aren't MLM or near Varrock, Penguin agility course, throwing house parties, etc. Many people have told me "Wait, that actually sounds really cool."
- I find I sometimes get flack from other players when they learn I play trouble brewing or train at the Wilderness agility course or do other such methods simply because I think they're fun and it can be nice to go off the beaten track. I would quite like to connect with other like-minded players. This helps combat 'elitism' and a 'there's only one way to play, and that way is efficiently' mentality.
- I intend to start such a clan. It would be called "Dead Content." I've already found several people who would be interested in joining this clan. Plus, the title immediately makes it very clear exactly what the clan is for.
- The interest tag system could easily support this. Have a separate tag for each major, popular minigame (e.g. castle wars, soul wars, barbarian assault, etc.). Most of these are probably group/team minigames. Also have tags like "Other Minigames," "Skilling" or "Skill Training," and "Social" or "Socializing". I believe you already have several of these on the list. The Dead Content clan would use these tags.
- Bots are like mold. They grow in dark places. Clans that frequent the dark and quiet places of Gielinor make it more likely bots will be found and reported in a timely manner.
