Overall this update is great! I'm voting yes to the new quest and randomized maze for sure!

The mace/crush weakness PVM is an awesome niche for F2P.

However,

The passive RC XP is a problem. This could potentially turn melees 0 time and this isn't how we want an alternative RC training method. RC XP from a dedicated RC activity such as the RC minigame/guild would be much more preferred even if it slightly increased RC XP rates.

The passive Prayer XP from fishing/cooking is also a problem. A semi afk/low XP prayer training alternative is fine but it shouldn't be behind fishing/cooking. It should behind it's own dedicated activity as well just like the boneyard prayer training method for F2P ironmen.

I am afraid of the impact this will have for F2P Ironman players. All of the methods in this cave sound like they will end up being better than the current training methods in F2P. This means that you will end up training fishing, cooking, combats, runecraft, mining, and smithing all in this one cave. Every skill except for woodcutting, firemaking, and crafting suddenly have a new method, and it's all in the same area. This just seems wrong.

Aside from completely uprooting the F2P Ironman metagame, it doesn't really seem that enticing to a new player if you end up doing everything in one little cave when there's a whole world to explore. I think a big part of the charm of early game RS is the exploration - being dropped into a large and complicated world and finding your way. I can't see the appeal in spending 90% of your time in one little cave.

I fear that these questions will pass regardless of their contents - most players who are able to vote do not think critically and do not consider the dedicated F2P community. The content is solely in the hands of the Jagex team to make it right if it comes into the game. I implore the team to consider the dedicated F2P players who have spent thousands of hours playing without members for the sake of the simple, vanilla, nostalgic gameplay of F2P.

Please reach out to the F2P community and discuss it with us before releasing this content. W_385 clan has an in-game cc, Discord server, and subreddit (/r/w385). Free to Play clan has a Discord server, in-game cc, and Twitter. You can also reach out to the admins of these communities by name - Pawz, Tannerdino, ColdFingers3, Freckled Dad, and DJ9.

Make the mace stronger than the rune scimitar. #1 it's a mace it should do more damage than a scimitar (sure make it less accurate, that makes sense). #2 the vast majority of f2p players don't have any equipment to work towards obtaining as you can just buy the best in slot weapon (rune scimitar) for 14k off the grand exchange. It's silly really. This mace being higher strength bonus than the rune scimitar (whilst also being untradeable and something that takes effort to obtain) would go a long way in making the game feel rewarding for the time spent.

There's a very easy fix for this, just adjust the exp rates. Now this would be a great update and give more area to explore, and the only reason to spend more time in this cave would be the extremely OP hammer held in hand.

Now on the other hand, turning runecrafting into a 0 time combat sink is.... weird. I mean I like it not being a maxed main. But this method should be tested against just how fast someone at max combat can kill these things at various methods, f2p and members followed by somebody at mid combat like 50's in everything. Because I see this becoming extremely OP method of training runecrafting if its not carefully balanced for the run times of delivering an inventory of runes.

It would also make a lot more sense if the player had to go to the respective altar to deliver these runes from this cave, rather then a dedicated place in the cave itself. This cave is very self contained as a skilling area when it need not be for the sake of adventuring and time sink.

Also why does the chest looting mini game/vault not have a thieving skill requirement and exp reward? That doesn't make much sense compared to other mini games like rouges den with worse rewards after the skilling outfit.

I forgot to mention, these chests should also be effected by the rouges outfit if it becomes a thieving based thing. I mean it is thieving ancient treasure after all....

If you have any questions, pop them in here and I'll put them forward to the team. :)

I've added in ICU's question about the Ruins-Specific Buffs.

Thanks for your creativity and the desire to breathe more life into f2p! I see this as mostly positive, but can see some potential issues.

The central issue being: How long does it actually take to process the fish, kill golems etc? Are the listed xp rates considering the processing time? There isn't much detail on what the process looks like besides xp and level requirements.

Fishing: Unlocking something at lv 46 that give 30k/hr concerns me, especially because it has built in cooking and prayer xp. Monks are similar in xp rates while providing some cash flow, but not unlocked until 60s. Fly fishing requires feathers and fish need to be dropped for the best rates. I think the rates need a small nerf, or to raise the requirement for the members only fish.

Prayer: Low xp rates, but I can see this becoming the meta for f2p players who don't have the time and money for burying thousands of big bones. More info please!

Golems: Please make sure this area is not multicombat and that cannons are not allowed. I'm not sure how you all got 40 cores per hour because we are only given the wording: "sometimes drop" I can absolutely see maxed players farming the chaos cores. And at level 70 I don't see how they won't be VERY quick to kill. Again, I think it's worth raising the reqs/combat of the golems for the p2p version.

Vault: It hurts to see that you can't get thieving xp here, or agility since it's a "maze". If it were just a corner where you open chests from your saved up bannite, I'd think about it differently. Can small amounts of xp be added for the top tier (the p2p option)? I also see good potential for allowing f2p players to "sample" thief and agility, like up to lvl 10. Though I may get crucified for suggesting that..!

Mace seems fine. I like the idea of making it degradable. Also would be nice to introduce or rework some f2p monsters to be more weak to crush vs slash (scimmy). Also I notice no prayer bonus, which is inconsistent with other maces.

Dwarven Hammer: Not a bad idea but consider that EVERY p2p player is going to have to grind this out as it will be meta for all armor smithing. Please increase the drop chance from higher tier activities.

I think that's it! Buffs and bolt pouch looks great.
