Oh, I also have to say this, sorry: I would be more convinced of Jagex's anti-gambling stance if you guys got rid of the "squeal of fortune".

I can (almost) understand wanting to get cash through microtransactions (even though you said you'd never do it). But you chose to do it using a method that specifically involves gambling, which preys on the same human weaknesses as the people gambling in game.

I am so thankful you've decided to take a stance on this issue in favor of the community.

As for the integrity of OSRS, the only current issue not being discussed is cross-trading. This is when players will (often trust-)trade on the live game for benefits in OSRS, or vice-versa. The most common example of this was when OSRS was first released, and people would pay upwards of 3m live GP per 1k OSRS GP. It doesn't create a fair playing field, so if you could monitor such trading actions between players on both games, and punish those involved, that would be my main feedback.

Otherwise, thanks for this long-awaited victory for fair players. :)

They've already said such transactions are allowed (although not encouraged, and as such are not allowed to be organized via the forums).

Be nice once there is a better anti-bot measure in place and so glad to see gambling has become a thing of the past.

This is a strange stance from Jagex' side.
Looking into the rules I read

"Real-world trading is the term used for activities which occur outside of the game environment which result in the real-world sale or purchase of items**** or services with the intention of supplying or advancing a Jagex in-game character other than by the means which are incorporated into the game."

Cross-trading is obviously nothing else but rwt'ing by Jagex own rules.

Best regards,
Mace

Where does the line between "macro" and "bot" end?

In the rules it states that "[any] software that can be used to gain an unfair advantage in our games may not be used" and "software that generates input to our game applets, [including] software that automatically moves the mouse pointer or generates mouse clicks or key presses."

However, I can very, very easily hop to any trade world and see hundreds, if not thousands, of people gathered directly violating these rules, often times with player mods present and never undertaking action. Autotypers "generate input" and give players an "unfair advantage" buying and selling goods, yet nothing is done.

I know other MMOs allow macros that operate on a 1:1 basis (1 user input = 1 client input ie F6 F7 F8 translates to click super def click super str click super atk if the pack screen is open), mainly allowing users to customize the interface / interactions to better suit them.

Also, combat xp information is **** slightly ahead of hit splash animations and is available by watching the xp of the skill(s) being trained. When pking, decoding this information and knowing your hit ~1/3 or 1/2 second ahead of your opponent allows a faster reaction time to switch to your special weapon (whip => dds, etc). Since this information is already supplied to your client at the same time it would be detectable, is it illegal to use a program which displays it?

Okay so how do I start this one off. I am a super old RS player, ive been following and playing this game since 1999, on Runescape classic, then Runescape 1, never ever did I get into eoc just because I loved the nostalgia of growing up and playing the game for over a decade now. And I must say, when 07 scape, or what the og's like me like to call it, OSR, was released it *as completely raided by bots and PEOPLE, that literally never played on osr, mostly by people under the age of 18. None of those people actually care about the nostalgia of the game because they never even grew up playing it. The first day osr was released me and five of my friends decided to resign up and start playing again seriously and hardcore, we stopped playing on a regular basis, and instead logged in to check the status of the present games progression. I must say I have never in my life seen so many scammers in one community its pathetic. two days ago, on this account which is now my main, I will not say who my other accounts are, because they are neither here nor there, I got straight up robbed for 72k, almost got robbed twice for 50k for a rune scimmy, and came so close to being robbed of 295k for an obby cape. Honestly and im not gonna lie, for the OSR guys, I think one of the biggest main focuses right now instead of bots and losers that you can easily track down by their highscores, you need to be focusing more on item scammers. I sat there and just started reporting them because I don't care if they get banned, they don't make any of us older folks and even the younger folks who want to play have any fun at all. I personally one day out of the week even more if I truly have too, will go out there in the trade worlds and personally report any players that I find item scamming or breaking any of the rules of the game, I have 0 tolerance and I'm speaking for many other original players who want to keep OSR and Runescape in general free of players that do NOT WANT TO PLAY!.
