So I'll assume he misunderstood something.
I doubted void bonus was multiplied twice when he told me.

I still think you could take final accuracy as calculated with void bonus, compare to same accuracy as without the void bonus at time.
Then solve for the required equipment bonus that you would need to get that accuracy with the non-void formula and then display it as the effective slash bonus.

With no boosts or prayer and abyssal whip. 82 slash
(99 att+8)*64+(99 att+8)*82 slash = 15,622 accuracy

With void 10% melee.
(99 att*1.1+8)*64+(99 att*1.1+8)*82 = 17,067.4 accuracy

Solve for equipment bonus without void. E slash

(99 att+8)*64+(99 att+8)*E slash=17,067.4 accuracy
E=95.50841121 slash

This means if my accuracy formula is now correct, the effective slash bonus of an abyssal whip at 99 attack in full melee void with no prayer or boosts is 95 slash.

Effective strength bonus can be calculated in same way using max hit instead of accuracy. But I don't know the formula for that.

Can this be done on the equipment screen?

Edit: And are slayer helm/salve undead bonuses applied to final accuracy/max hit, attack/strength like a prayer, or to attack bonuses and strength bonus. Maxed OSRS player / Community Helper @JagexHelpFox / Owner emeritus divine valor social clan.

Information I had on accuracy formula from friend seems to be wrong.

But with void bonus applied once, is it the same as yours now?
The +8 *64 parts. Could you share the equations for max hit and dps you're using?

I want to make my own calculator that displays effective strength and attack bonuses of any setup. Then I can compare things like melee void and max strength bonus gear. Maxed OSRS player / Community Helper @JagexHelpFox / Owner emeritus divine valor social clan.

Yup, also got 15,622 for the first one. I'm only really interested in void ranged so didn't bother creating anything for void melee or mage. For max hit I've got this formula in excel:

=FLOOR((5 + FLOOR((H8*(1+(H10/100))+

),1)*(1 + H9/64))/10,0.01)

That 8 changes to an 11 for aggressive and 9 for controlled.

Where:
H8 = Strength level
H9 = Equipment strength bonus
H10 = Prayer boost e.g. 23 for piety

And for DPS just combine accuracy, max hit and weapon speed.

I don't think you can calculate DPS without opponents defence and the probability of hitting. I was told this is how you find chance of hitting.

Have you seen the same?

Accuracy > Defence
1 - (Defence + 1)/(2 * Accuracy)
Accuracy < Defensive
(Accuracy - 1)/(2 * Defence)

Edit: I don't understand excel.
I understand everything but "10,0.01" at the end.
And is this based on information released by Jmods, or calculated from lots of player testing. Maxed OSRS player / Community Helper @JagexHelpFox / Owner emeritus divine valor social clan.

Ya that's what I meant when I said accuracy

To get accuracy your formula is very, very slightly different to mine. I derived it ages ago so I can't remember why but I did make one tiny little approximation somewhere, I think something to do with what happens when accuracy = defence?

Accuracy > Defence
1 - (Defence / 2 * Accuracy)

Defence > Accuracy
Accuracy / (2 * Defence)

If you consider the fact that you're dealing with accuracy and defence values in 1000s you can get rid of that 1 in your formulas and it really won't make a difference.

I think those are actual formulas used in game.
As far as based on what I was told, they might be there to stop dividing by 0.

But if thats the case they are not in the right place to do that. Unless my maths are being poor.

It's possible my friend made another mistake.
Or I was half asleep and copied them backwards.
