Doubt my post will be read by Mods but...

For rares to be brought back there has to be just 1 simple and yet complex thing to make this work. And that is fairness.

Skillers, as myself for example, cannot kill to get things, or do clue scrolls, or majority of quests. Therefore I believe anything involved with PVM/PVP for rares is completely out of the question.

The two only options I consider is


Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a small amount of GP

and

Give one of each rare item to every old school player

Simply because It is fair if you can spend some gp to buy such a crazy valued and loved item. Possibly make it limited for players to just be able to buy One.
And the second option because it just seems right. OldSchool, let rares start for the oldschoolers. Maybe 2005 and before? Or people who played 2007 and before?

Whatever happens with rares... I just wait it to be Fair for everyone.

It will never be the same. the only option which comes close to reflect current status of rares is the first option: Dropped on holiday events.

Getting rares from clue scroll is the stupidest thing iv ever heard. If its obtainable from clue scrolls thens its a cosmetic item that's not discontinued. It will FAIL hard just like pantaloons, cavalier hats, powdered wig, which never exceeds 500k in the long run.

Same as all the other options, It will not make it DISCONTINUED thus will never have the same superiority as the current rares in actual runescape servers.

I suggest the option: SELLING RARES for RUNECOINS at SOLOMONS for limited time of 1week, afterwards will be discontinued. Why? this way they can actually be rare as only a handful of players can actually buy them.

I think that all of trade-able rares should be dropped, as with the 10th anniversary drop party similar to what the live game had. The non-trade-able rares should be bought from Diango for 0gp. If rares are made available through skilling/clue scrolls then there isn't a fair chance for everyone to acquire these rares, which in my opinion defeats the purpose of adding them anyways.

And besides, if they are made to be a very rare drop/clue scroll reward, then they will always have to be available in this way because if only a small amount of rares are added into the game over a small period of time, the prices in the long-run will be extremely high - and this idea of wealth hoarding in the form of rares seems to be against what most people want. If they are in continuous supply then that would also defeat the purpose of them being discontinued.

Rares should be added as fun items for players to have, and perhaps in several years start to rise in value, as they did on the live game.

NO! there is a few reasons why i stopped playing eoc, one of them becuase of rares.. rares are dominating the game, and if they are brought back into 07
same will happen. if they were to be brought back i would like to see them nontradeable, i love the looks of them, but i really really do not want them to control the economy like they do in the live version of runescape..

Jagex please be careful how you re introduce these into the game, it needs to be done correctly and that means either by holiday even or just give one to all players.
you cant make it dropped by a monster or clues because then they wont be discontinued.

i think people that played rs since 2007 should get them in a cracker in bank...then maybe some other way like drops or skilling would be better...so maybe people that skill could have a chance at getting them aswell.

Yes...but i don't want it to get out of hand and making them cost over 2B.

2. If you vote for rare items to return, would you like the currently tradeable rare items to remain tradeable?

Yes. What's the point of it without being able to buy it?

3. How would you like rare items return?

Hmm...I would really like them to be dropped on the holidays they were originally dropped on. Maybe a scythe (untradable) and pumpkins on halloween, santa hats on Christmas, etc. Not a little amount of them, but enough of them to make them cost about 10M each at the MOST. 10+ year RS veteran; Oldschool RS player.

Please not the option for rich people to buy them. They just trade their eoc money for it. Its not fair at all

Just give them as a reward for the original holiday events its the most fair way
