Just thought I'd note something. The majority of OSRS playerd don't give a flying ****. The last time I checked there were just over 5000 votes (if I remember correctly). Now compare that to content polls and its scary how signifigant the difference is. You have to answer one question and only 5000 players did it. Godwars was a twenty question poll that got 28000 players to vote. JEEZE people really don't care about cosmeticals, my view on the community went up a little

I agree there should be a final round between the two, but it should be because of votes being split by the lower four options not because the majority didn't vote for a ghost staff. Would you not want a final round if a different staff was winning?

If your answer to my question is no, then you voted for staff of darkness and are a sore loser. Can't say that's fact, but I think it is.

If a different staff was winning, I would be fine with a final round. It's only fair.

I already stated I didn't vote for darkness. I was fine with 5 of the 6 options, so I randomly voted for wrath. I just wanted to avoid the ghostly staff (it looks cool, but I don't want it from Zamorak boss). But, to be successful, I would have had to wait until the poll is just about to end, then check what staff was closest to beating the staff of the dead, and then vote for it. Dumb system? That's why similar polls usually have the final round.

A single-transferrable-vote system would be nice for this sort of question, but sadly the poll module doesn't offer that facility.

The web guys who upload our polls like to get the schedule well in advance so they can plan their other work around us. They might not be able to schedule us another poll this week, but I guess it does no harm to ask. Provided no-one else has booked the poll system for another survey, anyway...

If we can't get a final-round survey, I hope you'll be okay with using the most popular choice (provisionally that's the Staff of the Dead), since the behaviour of the item will not be affected; this is just a cosmetic question, and won't affect gameplay.

Turns out the week of the big maintenance shuffle is not a good time to ask for this sort of thing, since the web team is the one that's been doing a lot of it! I'll post again when I have more info.

I voted for staff of light, but since it seems SoD is gonna pass, I just wanna say the name sounds kinda lame.

I'd much prefer to use "Necromancer Staff" over "Staff of the Dead." This isn't some Mexican festivity. It's godwars...

I'm afraid we're not going to be able to run a second round after all, so we'll have to stick with the version that proved most popular in the survey. Which is what we promised last Friday anyway.

Staff of the Dead it is. You can give it a more epic nickname if you like.
