Any thoughts about removing the melee reqs from the staff drop?

Tbh, before we start trying a design-by-committee approach to re-designing the Staff of Light, I'd rather poll something that's relatively close to the SoL. If it fails, then we'll move further afield.

I dont mean this in a rude way but JAGEX how can you be thinking about new updates when your current implemented ones are not functioning.

Different teams do different things. We have already asked the game engine team to work out what's going on with that system, since that's purely a game engine matter. When we hear something back from them, we'll be sure to let you know. Meanwhile, as content developers, Nexus & I can't help the engine team with their work, so there's nothing to be gained by halting all content development work while we wait.

How about atleast a poll on having the spec changed, as this is going to wreck dds staking

mod ash would you consider anything to replace the addy bar notes? reduction in numbers and percentage? a new item? anything that would make them a decent (not necessarily a great) money maker? frankly my dear, I couldn't give a dam. never had a river to build one on.

I think an offensive special would be both more appropriate and fun for the game in light of the offensive additions for melee and range (only slight for range). This will have to probably wait till later however since mod ash doesn't make it sound like anymore changes will be made to the upcoming poll.

Yes, totally. One idea was to replace them with ammo, since that's something that's often consumed when fighting Armadyl's creatures. Another was to add an anvil and turn the area into a sort of Smithing training setup. I think the idea about magic spice to improve the healing of all other foods might be a bit radical, but there's definitely scope for adding something else.

These would be suitable things to offer in a follow-up poll. We'll continue offering the GWD in the form described in the blog for now, but we'd love you to keep posting ideas for what to add to the dungeon in future polls.

Yeah, if we start trying to do fiddly design work now, and communicate it just in the poll question itself - where we can't even format the text! - it's probably not going to end well.

Adding to the idea of anvil for Aviansies, please add a smithing anvil room where in order to gain access to it one has to be dealt perhaps around 30-40hp damage due to something(you can invent the cause of damage). This way, it will discourage people to camp indefinitely for smithing xp.

I have an idea of something to give Zammy (If it could be done)... the Robes of Subjugation. We're getting Bandos for Melee and Armadyl for Range, why not the RoS for Mages so the triangle is covered?

I'd even say (if possible) give them some kind of set effect to do extra damage or have the damage boosting ability they had pre-eoc (set effect being more logical because we don't have damage boosts). To balance the GWD at least someway.

I had a set effect idea to work similar to dharoks only in reverse. Think about movies and books: The mage requires a lot of physical strength and mental state to cast these spells... once one has been worn down, they start to struggle being able to cast spells without risking death or passing out. The higher your HP, the more damage you can do. I was originally thinking 200% damage at full hp, dropping to 100% by time you're around 20% max health or less... but 60 with ice barrage at the speed it casts might be OP with the 20 second freeze. So perhaps 150% (45 ice barrage) would be better.

Seems like it would be easy to implement with dharoks coding in effect as is; a few tweaks to reverse it. With these robes and SOL to save runes, it might balance mage better. You could possibly use Ahrim's design code as a main template for designing them, too. (Maybe take out the details and make them black?)
