i just went rev caves it sooo quiet max I made an hour was 1.5m there the having to tele due to clans or even just watchin people pk whilst I pvmed was cool. Hope you choose to do something this weekend about revs and end this 5 year celebration on a high for OSRS

Just want to throw this out there....

I have played since 2002. Off and on again in many different areas within the game for 16 years. I have multiple memberships.

I have pkers and I have mains. My pker no longer goes to revs as it's a useless area to pk. Again, we as pkers lose the places we can go as "small teams".... Jagex, remember when you did away with the wilderness in 2008? Remember when you killed RS all together? We do. When you make shit decisions where you go 0-100, you lose people. Was 6m/hr the plan? Obviously not. Was 2m/hr the plan? Sounds like it was. The Avg was 2.5m, so instead of making a minor tweak to the caves and increasing HP levels or removing cannons, you destroyed the drop tables, removed cannons and in one swoop created another dead space.

I said to myself, fuck it. I will try this out and give it a chance. I spent 4 hours in the cave. I wanted to see if it was even worth doing it. After 4 hours, I had killed 93 revs. You know how much I made of 93 revs? Take a guess... Please... 1.1M GP.... In 4 hours! This doesn't include the 3 times I was killed by a bot clan that full well know they can hop world to world, throw a tb and kill the single person that is there. You've created one more area for bots to take over and rule the game.

These tables are trash, and there is literally no reason to risk anything for the drops that you never get.

I can go kill sand crabs for better xp, better gp and never have to worry about a bot pker...

Am I saying send it back to exactly how it was? Absolutely not. But, don't do dumb shit like you did back in the mid/late 2000's where your drastic un-thoughtout decisions and absurd stubbornness drive people away. Make a compromise, what you've done here is nowhere near acceptable.

This "hotfix" really killed the caves, people who try to kill these first have to worry about the revenants healing for 2 minutes when they are below 50 % hp, in this time, a pker logs in with his buddy and youre dead. Second these dont even drop decent stuff anymore, i was there 10 minutes got only ~60 laws and while killing a revenant i got pked by a team. The only people this "hotfix" caters to pkers, who are the real ones who make 1.4 - 2 m /hr. This is dead content.

This is starting to feel like the other things that plagued the game in the past. I played when Jagex forced you to decide if you wanted to play runescape classic or runescape 2. I was there when Jagex implemented a fair trade system and removed pvp risking. And I was there when Jagex ditched a sacred combat system. Alll of these decisions left me with the same feeling, the same thought and the same hope: Maybe one day they will see the error in their ways and bring it back.

Well you can still log in to the runescape classic servers today (if you are an OG), Jagex removed fair trade and brought back pvp risking to basically revive their failing game, and they re-released a version of the game that did not include a clunky confusing combat system. Now with all of this not happening I wouldn’t be here today to write this but there was always one thing that rubbed me the wrong way with all of these fixes: it took way too damn long for any action to be taken.

I am positive that you can look at the data of the 2 week rev buff and you will see that the games activity flourished. I am pretty upset that the Jagex staff now has a smoking ace up its sleeve that can be brought out whenever the game sees a lul in membership or a bottom line financial goal is not going to get met. That was how ffun the buffed rev caves were for me because that is all it will take to get me to come back and play this game.

People love the rev caves so much because of the significance they had from RS3. When Jagex abolished free trade they had an influx of players that mostly geared their play style towards PVP elements return to a game that had not received any PVP updates in years. Shortly after they introduced the revenent caves to house their ill conceived attempt at making the wilderness dangerous during the era of free trade. This was a major success and was the pinnacle of post free trade to EOC runescape.

This is another game breaker update like when you ruined wilderness.
Revert the changes.
keep the cannon ban, nerf the low level drops and move them into the level 30 and below wildy depth area.
increase spawn rates to bring item drops down.
increase statute drop rates to bring even out profit over length.

I gave this hot-fix a try, but it looks like the nerf went way too far. The pyrefiend literally drops nothing and the imp and hobgoblin are there just to take up space. So at this moment, lower levels like myself have only one monster to go after, the Pyrefiend, which drops nothing also. I've been testing this since yesterday and I've only managed to get 1 note drop out of the 20+ I killed. Saddest part, I got pked right after and lost it. lol.

Based on your wording, your data showed players were receiving the promised drop rate with the exception of a minor few players who were getting ridiculous amount of drops. This was in part due to the cannon. I feel removing the cannon should have been your first step and then continued to do data gathering to see if it would lower the gp per hour for these 6M players.

Jagex, you really need to start thinking things through before doing something. I'm not asking to revert the Rev cave back to the way it was before the hot-fix. I am asking to stop taking such dramatic steps.

At this point, I highly doubt you'll be able to fix the Rev caves. The damage is done and the community unrealistically expects them to go back to the old way it was. I know it's not plausible, however, I feel you dropped the ball Jagex, big time.

DDS Striker, I like your idea of moving lower level revs to a lower level area of the wilderness. I would also recommend making those areas single combat. As far as the drop rates, well less risk means less reward. However, higher level monsters need to have their drop rates returned back to the way they were pre-hotfix.
