I'm going to wait for the poll, but I don't really agree with a couple of things that are mentioned in this thread. You're trying to make the game better than it was in 2007, that's not what this project was about, it was about having the experience of that period of time. Adding new things to the game (as mentioned at the very last of the post) is not what you should be investing development time in.

I also have very mixed feelings about GWD, but after some careful thinking I believe it would be best to not release it. Certainly after what has been said before this thread was created (I remember statements like: It would take 1000's of hours to re-create it).

I'd also like to remind you that we didn't reach 500k votes and as of such I don't believe these kind of updates should be made. After all, the original idea was that we would get a small team. I don't believe the small development team (if it even is small as said by the poll, because these updates look like they may require a larger team) that we where promised would be able to create these updates within a couple of months (which is what players expect).

As long as these updates aren't at the cost of the EoC servers then I won't complain, but by reading this post, I get the idea that it will. (And I may get a lot of hate for posting about EoC in the ORS forums, but honestly, Jagex really shouldn't be prioritising ORS above EoC, certainly not after they promised in the original newspost.)

Think about this carefully Jagex and make sure you can handle whatever the outcome of these polls will be. I hope the community is sensible and will do what is best for both games. -

If a large percentage of the paying membership prefers OSR over EOC, then it is entirely reasonable for a reasonable percentage of Jagex resources to be devoted to OSR.

I agree, but it shouldn't be at the cost of the updates that are originally planned for this year. Updates for EoC should not be delayed for ORS updates for the simple fact that Jagex said this in the first newspost about ORS:

"But before I get into the specifics, there is one thing that is very important to note. If this idea gathers sufficient support, then we will not need to take our current talent away from all of the exciting updates to be implemented into the current version of the game, as we will be able to hire a new dedicated team to work specifically on this project."

"Although some of our resources and time would be reallocated initially to the reinstatement of the 2007 servers, the main game would still continue to receive its regular updates, as well as the massive updates promised for 2013."

I certainly don't mind ORS receiving their updates but I will start to mind if it means EoC will be affected by it.

I understand that other players may not see this the same way as I do and I fully respect that, but I also wish that others respect the opinions of the other players, whether they play EoC, ORS, both or neither of them. -

Awesome job guys!!
Love all the updates. Many people are getting there pants in a bunch over adding what they consider "new content" but some of these updates i believe are great features to add.
Personally I like the idea of GWD
due to the face after a good amount of time we will need bigger and better goals to aim for and what better than the GWD to do so?
I really hope that GE is never instated into Oldschool
just due to the fact it will zap much of the nostalgic effect this game holds with earning your own way and obtaining things through trade.
I would like to suggest looking into adding the quest "Smoking kills" for the addition of the slayer helmet and slayer points.
Give slayer alittle more meaning and who didn't love the ability to skip certain tasks they absolutely loathed getting.
I would also like to suggest Clan Wars!
maybe not put in the wilderness but another location, I miss clan warring very much so! As for the updates I think you guys have done an awesome job and keep up the great work! :)

Bringing back gwd isnt a good idea in my books tbh it will just bring op weapons into the game and make things really unfair for the people that want to pk old school with dds / whip if you get a kill you're just gonna get pjed by some kid with an ags thinking they are god.... bad idea

I think we need to stop thinking about what happend after 2007. like adding gwd our more things wat happend after 2007 in the old school rs. I think if you ever want change in the game and new items quest and stuff go look for new things. Like new quest, items, story lines what didnt happen after rs07 and what became the eoc. And its also fun and new because we didnt seen it before. and if you put new items our skilling methods in the game. make a beta world for testing new items our skilling methods. So player can test the skilling methods, items, other new things and see what effect it has on the game. and still let there be a final vote where people still need to vote 75% yes and then bring the game in.
