They hardly failed as a standard weapon. Whip was still better for slayer on most tasks

If the lower level weapons better, then I consider the higher level weapon a failure at that function.

So ignore the part where I mentioned what they are better for. They also tended be successful on the bosses which i didn't mention on my original post, but why bother continuing this. What good is an argument if we are ignoring the opposition.

This is why the Armadyl god sword was a great addition. It was a higher attack requirement and a more powerful weapon for that reason.
- Dragon claws = 60 attack. A lower attack weapon which caused outrage because it was more powerful that higher level weapons.

Its still possible to be overpowered at a higher level. If drygores in the main game could 1hko, you'd probably ****ider that op, even if they are level 90 weapons.

I already said they were better at bosses, so I'm "hardly" ignoring it. Although technically they are only better at Godwars and maybe the mole in 2007.

I thought i'd give my opinion on some of the possible future content updates..

DON'T DO IT!

I strongly disagree with bringing out the GWD, as the whole idea of old school Runescape is keeping it old school, and sorry, GWD wasn't old school! Also, i don't think i will be happy if new weapons stronger then the whip came out as it would also ruin the whole old school runescape idea. Back when i use to play 2007, the biggest thing i was afraid of in the wilderness was someone strolling along with a whip! GWD would take this away from us.

Aside from GWD, any more content release will start to change the game too much and bring it that little bit closer to the current and modern Runescape and away from the thing that you bought back in the first place, old school runescape.

Sorry for the rant lol! Hope others agree ^_^

Mist, that's an interesting idea (about having the don't care vote option), but what would happen if 'I don't care' got the majority 75% vote, would the update not happen I assume?

-----

Anyways, looking forward to the next poll. Sounds great. :)

As for future content, I'd prefer if GWD was left out. The introduction of godswords in particular mark a turning point in RS history. Their presence altered PvP greatly, and not in a good way, imo. Also, activity shifted away from skills, to just camping bosses. That said, I'll just be skilling regardless so it wouldn't effect me personally too much. But, it isn't about just me, it is about the game as a whole, and I feel GWD would do more harm than good. But, all I can really say is that it should be thought about very carefully by all voters, and by Jagex as the decision can and likely will impact all aspects of the game more than would be expected at first glance. All angles of this proposal need to be recognised and considered (perhaps a thread could be made especially for discussion of this when the time comes, and all sides of the issue could be presented so that voters will be educated on the subject).

Also, ZMI will dramatically increase RC xp rates. Whether or not this is good or bad, personally I've yet to decide.

At the end of the day, such content updates run a very high risk of corrupting the very reasons 07 was brought back. While updates may sound nice on paper, I hope things don't change too much, as it is a slippery slope and may end up with a game unlike what 07 is meant to be. But, I trust that things will work out fine in the end. :)

The choices for the upcoming poll look interesting, yet I cannot stop wondering why fixing an obvious bug - the glitchy pathfinding mechanism - would be one of them. I was under the impression that all unintended and/or badly coded issues would just get ironed out over time automatically. Like the Construction skill and some quests got postponed to be de-bugged or the XP on toy mouses got rebalanced. I am not afraid that it will not pass the poll, but rather sad that the wait for it will be quite long. Especially since it's such a vital aspect of the game.

On a side note, a few Farming skill fixes mentioned on these forums would make great polling topics!

I am against Gwd because of the fact that the spoils are so tempting to everyone. It trumps any other method of making gold and basically kills really good content. If these areas become empty for to long bots pick up the slack. We will be flooded with bots in no time.

I also stated earlier the economy is not ready for this type of update.

Why do you need to start ruining this again by adding "God War Dungeon" etc here. We wanted to enjoy playing the old school rs not the one which got added all godswords, soulsplits, dragon claws etc. If we would that we would stay at those private servers. So please could you just start fixing all bugs first and then decide again which is better one, ruin this game or let people enjoy of 07 when runescape and its community was on its best. By adding god wars dungeons etc you just make more and more people quit becouse of these updates which makes those people who started to make this 07 happen, made this possible to us who played runescape when it was on its best. We have now enough challenge to play and train just like we used to. If people wants those npc's becouse they want something to kill, make new bossed which drops some valuable items which are ALREADY in the game and wouldnt need to be added. Thats what i just wanted to say. Thanks you for your time if you will read this message which might not mean to you much but will mean to me and many other people who started this game only for one reason. Enjoying playing this game when it was on its best.
