Do the Leather Shields also work like an Anti-Fire Shield? or a DFS? Would be nice tho... Or it would be kinda worthless for the ranged dragon killers, although the extra range bonus and defence bones seem nice anyways.... Myths say that dragons can't obtain any fire as a damage when hit by it. Their skin is as hard as mithril, and as burnable as diamond... This would only decrease the damage when you wear the shield tho, the other dragon leather pieces wouldn't cover a person completely in a logical way ...

Any thoughts??

If you want a range off-hand and a dragonfire shield in 1 slot, I'd suggest using a dragonfire ward. You wouldn't expect a rune kiteshield to block dragonfire, so a leather shield shouldn't either.

Fortunately most dragons can't reach a pesky little ranger with their dragonbreath attack, so as long as you're careful, you can still use these shields for dragon hunting.

For a mid tier item these shields have some VERY high requirements to make. 90 Woodcutting , 92 Fletch, 89 Smithing, and 83 Crafting, these requirements are very high for an item that is at best considered mediocre. The nails requirements should either be removed or allow for any kind of nails to be used (Could have a succeed/fail chance based on nail type with rune being 100% success)

Much how we don't expect a player to have 85 mining and 99 smithing to own a rune platebody, the same goes with the shields. Trade someone in game, have a chat and make a friend, this is an MMO after all :P (Or use the GE, it's your decision!)

And for ironmen, well... the blue dhide shield only requires 69 crafting (why not cut some mushtrees on fossil island and make a pie? That's a 4 crafting level temporary boost!) and isn't that much worse than the black/red dhide shields.

As much as this is a step forward in introducing a use for the redwood logs, this current highest woodcut requirement log does not have a balanced alch value in both the incomplete and complete redwood shield to match its requirements. This provides no additional value or reason in woodcutting the redwood log. The other logs in game has the potential to be fletched into a bow, which gives greater alch value and in turn makes them a more viable method of woodcutting, this is clearly something missing from the redwood log.

Is this something you guys are looking in to? P.S yes i am stocking up on redwood logs :P
