Jagex, all great things are worth waiting for! I will be spending majority of my free time away from home on the old school app. I didn’t get chosen for beta but am still very exited as is most other players. I’m sure I speak for a lot of old school players when I say I’d rather wait a few extra months and be able to play a near flawless version rather than having to fight bugs and glitches throughout the first few months of play. Take the extra time and do it right the first time. The turn out will be so much better if it all starts off working the way it should!

People are getting pretty riled up over this … Honestly, all of this extra time has just enabled me to work on my extremely noob character :) Like previous people said, I want this app to be quality. I don’t care if it takes until July to produce if it is produced properly. Nothing in life that’s good is ever easy …

Anywho, the important thing is that they’re still working on it and that they won’t give up on the project. I’m currently in the university studying Software Engineering, so I can understand just how massive of an undertaking they’re attempting here. Even if takes 3x, 4x, 5x the length of time originally thought, if they can pull it off (successfully), then the problems they’ll be worrying about later will be good problems to have :)

I’m excited. I can already see this app wrecking some of my real-world productivity levels :) ) It will be worth the wait!

I missed my invite to closed beta from February 1- 15. Anyway I can get that for this time around?

I'm afraid not. Each limited beta is specifically targeted at users/devices we think will provide us with the information we need.

I'm defnetily ready for the release. However an update on the progress would be nice and a release date would be appreciated. Is there any news on what's going on or will there be any news soon?

We release news update fairly regularly with each blog. We've just conducted an Android beta, and we're gearing up for an iOS beta in March.

I appreciate all that you guys at Jagex do. Both Runescapes are awesome games that I love to play, and have done so on and off since around 2007 or 2008. I was extremely excited last year when I heard that Mobile was supposedly coming out in December of 2017. However, it is antagonizingly still in development. I know it is no easy task, and can imagine all the work that it takes to produce something like what you are trying to do. I even appreciate all the time you are taking to get It done right, amongst all the pressure from us impatient people. I support you guys and feel assured that Mobile will be a stable game once It's released.

With that being said, would it be possible to get multiple updates per month about the progress? Something even bi-weekly would be great. I am also a software applications developer, and am used to getting constant daily and weekly updates on my projects from my team. As such, it is killing me not knowing where this is at. Even small tidbits here and there would be welcome, something to keep us going. Is there an outline you could put together for us on what is done, and what is left to do? That way, it could be updated on the fly so people don't have to keep asking questions. I know you can't share all pieces of information with the public. Are you guys an agile development shop or something similar? Maybe you can tweet updates every other day or so. Your monthly Dev Blogs are good, but a month in between updates is painful.

Maybe you already do some of that. If you do, I apologize for not doing enough research before posting this. I know (think) you have Twitter, but I don't remember seeing what I was looking for on there. I was just trying to throw some suggestions out there to satisfy my own interests, as well as as put the rest of the community more at rest. I feel bad for the mods when reading forums and feeling like they constantly have to be on the defensive.

Again, I fully support you guys. Keep up the good work!

I expect we'll see more updates more frequently as we enter the stage where it's ready to be tested by the public. :)

We'd love to have it ready and released. Unfortunately it's still not quite there yet. :(

Is there a way of registering the fact I've upgraded my iOS device?

It's possible we'll re-open registration ahead of the next round of testing (which doesn't include this next iOS test, I'm afraid).
