Hi Mod Maz,

I have a couple of questions relating to Fossil Island.

How will we get the lore for the Island, will it be through drops or something like that?

Will there be any quests that take place on Fossil Island after the update?

How many map squares is the island?

When will the second dev blog for Fossil Island be released?

Lore will mostly come from looking and searching the island and sometimes talking to people, it is optional and gives no xp.

No quests on the island....yet.

The surface map is 8 map squares. There are then the underwater 2 and the volcano 2, and a few other dungeons.

Second dev blog should be sometime next week I think.

I'm honestly really excited to see what else you have in store - I've been waiting for Fossil Island for years, and the hype is real! I have a feeling you won't disappoint me here. :D

Add in a quest or two, and I'll have died and gone to heaven.
Started in 2005... What have I done with my life Proud of it!

One of the features I was looking forward to was ultra compost. Are there still plans to add that in upon initial release?

Yep, that's still happening.

As a long-time supporter of Jagex and Runescape, I respect the effort of the team to bring us Fossil Island. I can't help but think, however, that the time and resources being used on this project could have been used on something better than a skilling island with unconventional methods.

Hope I'm wrong though, we'll see when it comes out!

I am sure you will find something on that island that you will enjoy. Although I have to say I disagree with you about the time they used on this island could used on something "better". I like new continents, and new places and new methods of doing skill. Like that Hunter method they are working on, I personally think it will be very good. Keep in mind that Jagex are always trying to their best to satisife their customers (like any other company would) but of course, everyone can't love every single content, I think the plan is atleast the majority will enjoy it and also most important the new comers. New players and expand playerbase are every companies goal, would be stupid if it wasn't. As you can clearly see, that old school has expanded big time recently, you can see that fact by the developers and the players.

The old school team started with 3 developers. Look now, I think it is like 18 mods now? And more will come. Also the players, 60k players most of the time are very huge amount of players for a game that is from 2007. So I would like to say, that Jagex are doing an incredible job. I like how they communicate with us on Twitter and reddit, Also here on forums. And let us not forget the QA on twitch.

So Jagex are caring about their players more than we can imagine. But of course , when a company have so many customers which makes it hard to make everyone satisfied. But I think the majority are very happy about their work.

I would like to thank the whole Jagex team for doing this to us.

I'm so glad this content is coming - I know a few people who are OSRS "purists" who wanted to see this concept shot down and never return.

But this is exactly the kind of content that made me return to OSRS today and start playing again, even after I was rudely shut out of the clan that invited me in to play the game WITH them (though that's neither here nor there)...

In other words, I am *very* hyped for Fossil Island! Can't wait!
Oh, I almost forgot.
Oh, I already forgot.
