As for blue dragons, the code I did for today's update makes it pretty easy to add more task-only areas in future, assuming you'd want any such new blue dragons to be task-only.



Oh I read every blog I guess I'm just lazy. For a long time over 10 years ago I found myself going to the slayer tower or brim haven dungeon for tasks. I don't feel the need to explore a world I've already seen every inch of since 2003.

That'd be nice as Blue Drags are pretty packed usually (and my current task is Blue Drags).

Blue dragons are also located in the Ogre Enclave, this place is not packed at all and not many people know about this. The only requirement is to start the Watchtower quest until you come across these.

The only requirement is to start the Watchtower quest until you come across these. If I remember correctly, you get aggrod there by other creatures so it's not too good if you intend to also bank. Nevertheless, thanks for the tip and let's not get too off-topic here. :)

This just isn't convenient for those of us who like to bank all items without wasting a lot of time, dragons for slayer need to be near a bank deposit box or they simply aren't worth the lost xp to do.

I for one feel liked doing dragon tasks and banking the bones/hides to break up the cannon intensive tasks. I'll likely have blue , red, iron and steel drags blocked as a result of this update and leave open black dragons for a kbd trip, can't afford to be spending 4 hours to kill 150 blue dragons.

I can see myself getting bored of slayer as a result and never finishing it to 99.

Why call it "Diverse Dungeons" when nearly all of the dungeons are dedicated to one category of monster per dungeon aside from Nieves cave? Nieve's cave was truly diverse. You should call it "Distant Dungeons" instead. Don't see how a longer walk/bank to each task was needed its not like I'm making bank killing fire giants and dragons as is...

Agreed that removing the Blue Dragons is quite strange, they can be tasks as early as Vannaka or Chaeldar and would require a lot of walking or 70 agility for the shortcut.
Adding them to Birmhaven would make up for it in a way, because of the fairy ring teleport there having them on task from Chaeldar almost gives fair way of using fairy rings anyway.

If you want to do metals just go to the Catacombs, there's several spawns in there and I rarely even have to hop to get a world. They're very close to the entrance, so Xeric's Heart teleport is very convenient.

Frankly, I like this update even though it inconveniences some people. If anything the issue is more that metal dragons should've never been as convenient as they were to begin with. If you played when they were first introduced, it was always a long, inconvenient trek to get to them, but it was always worth the trip just at a chance at dragon legs, and that remained for many years as the only way to get them, along with eventually adding the Visage for incentive to make the long walk. Considering you have many more options (Catacombs being the best in my opinion) this change isn't all that staggering considering what we had to go through in the past.

I'll be looking forward to checking out the new habitats later. And despite the inconvenience, this is Osrs, and part of the experience that I welcomed was back then was having a little tension and fighting over spawns with other players, it's just always been part of the game.
