Perhaps you guys could replace that bottom trim with the other trim from the really early design of the inferno cape, the one that was red. You guys could use that trim, It'd suit the cape better and change the gem color to orange. I think many people would like that.

Why can't you artists at Jagex create something original for once in your life, why do you have to copy the fire cape and recolor it, and throw it on a new item id and half assed throw it into the game. Just because you add some obsidian trim or what ever you call it to the cape doesn't make it alright. I really hope this is polled before it enters the game. A whole new design different from firecape with an animation and also different from RS3/PRE-EOC kiln cape would be ideal, not this copy and paste crap where you slow the speed of flow and change the coloring.

Any consideration given to making the original design the baseline, with this new one being created by combining the cape with an Onyx? I liked the original a lot, the new version doesn't really seem like an upgrade to me.

The first design was basically perfect, all the gaudy stuff is just really EoC and that's not what I want in my 2007.

I have two ideas to keep the old school feel.

1. Same model as current fire cape, with red mist emitting from the bottom.

Or

2. Make it he same colors as the current fire cape, but all ripped up (like the legends cape) as if it went through wear and tear in battle.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the original design (literally like a 10/10, exactly how I imagined an old school sequel to the Fire Cape)... complainers just want it to look less old school and more pre eoc, which is not what this game is about.

That being said it still looks fine except the bottom part... I'd take that out.

Nah you see your logic is so completely flawed. Adding this cape in the first place goes against the idea of OLD SCHOOL. Adding this cape IS a pre-eoc addiction. The design has nothing to do with it, Everything added since GWD has slowly chipped away at the idea of this game being "Old School" RuneScape. This game is no longer about keeping the game Old School. It is about re-creating Pre-EoC. That's exactly what the community is pushing for. HMU when turmoil is polled.

Nope. Just because they update the game doesn't = Pre EoC.

Pre EoC had horrible and unbalanced updates. That's what makes it the steaming pile of shit known to us all as Pre EoC, or 2012Scape. Zeah is not Pre EoC, and neither are the vast majority of updates.

This game is about going backwards to 2007, starting over, and making better updates than what Pre EoC had in terms of quality and balance, while "maintaining the old school feel." The J-Mods have repeated that several times, and when they say "old school feel" they are NOT talking about 2012. So what are they talking about then? I'll tell you, the greatest era that RuneScape ever saw, the 2004-2007 era.

In a nutshell, Old School answers the question "what happened if back in 2007, we listened to those rioters saying 'we pay we say'"?

Original cape design looked better and did fit well with Old School. This new design is horse shit and simply removing the bottom part would be a huge improvement. The collar could go too tbh.
Long live the Wilderness. Long live risk vs reward in PVM. Long live 2006.
