Wyvern shield is too strong. Would devalue arcane and DFS. I will vote no to wyverns and everything relating to them.

I also agree with this. The malediction ward is already an update that makes a good middle ground for magic shields.

The beauty of the old combat system is that there are sometimes trade-offs with gear. When using mage, you should have to decide that either defense or attack bonus is more important. This type of thing is just going further away from that.

Not to mention... I think we have enough magic equipment that has been added so far. Seers Ring (i), Occult, Infernal Boots, Augury, Mal Ward, Kodai, SOTD, Toxic SOTD, Imbued heart, Mystical, Arcane, and I'm still probably missing some. Do we really need more?

As a supporter of the 2004-2007 era and against the pre-eoc era, I have to say that there is no problem with updates that are balanced.

What made it RuneScape to me was being well balanced, very few OP training methods, the graphics, and the combat system. As long as all four are kept in check, the game is fine.

There are some issues with this update, such as the Mining Minigame being a bit OP, hopefully to be addressed.

Also, how come old demons/dragons/etc never get polled even though players keep asking for them? They should have been polled ages ago.
Long live the Wilderness. Long live risk vs reward in PVM. Long live 2006.

This is something that has been asked for since the release of the server. Varrock, Falador, and other areas were also recently updated graphically sometime around 2007 and it'd be nice to get the original versions back. There are plenty of videos and images out there if the actual files/backups didn't exist.

The OSRS team seems less open to updates that are in the spirit of "old school" than those that resemble content from Rs3, unfortunately. Even if it's not some hugely in-demand thing that the majority of current players are actively asking for, it'd be nice to have some when we're bombarded with updates that erode the "old school" feel. It would be in the spirit of the game and make old players happy when every other update isn't very old school at all.

I simply hold the stance that there is value to keeping the game balance as is. I like the idea of filling in gaps such as the granite weapons. There is however, a fundamental problem with introducing new centralizing equipment. You're not improving the game, you're just moving the crowds to a new specific mainstream narrative. The wyvern shield would completely eliminate the choice between DFS defense and arcane accuracy when using magic. It would arguably also eliminate arcane in general. Lose 2 choices for 1. This is a bad decision.

I support finishing the content in the game, such as 07 updates (zmi) and the fossil island (which is leftoff from the varrock Museum). Don't forget there are several houses in Ardrougne and varrock which lack quests. All cities are relatively empty and could use content. Please do that instead of moving the narrative using hype gear that will be normal after one week.

Everything looks great! Well...everything except the wyvern drops.

Either nerf the granite boots and wyvern shield to where they're not as good as they are, or scrap them entirely and make something new. I am no hardcore PVMer, but even I see a problem when you have a creature that drops melee boots better than rune at a lower Slayer level than those that drop rune boots.

Everything else looks absolutely wonderful! I don't get why a few people are against the bird houses; I hate training Hunter in OSRS. This is a nice way for someone like me to get it up!

On a side note...

Really? People want those disasters back in the game? I don't think they look good at all! Un-updating graphics is foolish IMO; to me, it's pandering *only* to nostalgia and not usability of the content.
Oh, I almost forgot.

No. A lot of us think the original versions looked better and fit the game better. Some of the game was updated early in graphics, while other parts were not yet updated in 2007. Since this is Old School, we should be matching the rest of the game with the earlier graphics.

Also if there's monsters on the island can we get a monster counter or something that counts how many times we've killed a certain monster and how many unique monsters there are left to kill on the island? I feel like this would be a nice add-on that could extend into the main game. I wanna know what monster's I've yet to slay xD

And this is where I must respectfully disagree. If you want things to match, update the un-updated. Don't make things uglier and almost two-dimensional-looking just for the sake of "matching".

One thing's for certain - I am never certain why the mining rocks in Old School were devamped. They're just...awful-looking! They don't look like 2007...more like 2005!

If they ever offer that for other things, I will be vehemently voting "no".
