You lose yours, and the team loses a comparable quantity. But I expect you'll work out better tactics as you get accustomed to it, and will die a lot less.

No, though one of the late changes we made to Raids was to block teleports in there, meaning that anyone using them would have to enter/exit via Mount Quidamortem. Which would increase the risk fairly dramatically, so it's not out of the question to enable it in future.
