Could you please explain the adjustments to Barbarian Assault? In particular that which is being proposed with regard to dispenser delays?
Currently, when you pull the lever, there's a delay of about 6 ticks while it does the animation before you get items. This does not need to be there.
I'd like a more exact clarification of this.
Will it be that you instantly get the food and can move away from the machine, that you instantly get food, but have to wait till you can move away...
...or like in rs3 where you can click the machine, have to wait for food, but can move away instantly, so that if you click too soon, you end up leaving the machine without food and having to run back? (At least that is how it was in rs3 some months ago.)
Considering the quick-start, would it be possible to just shorten the timer instead of letting the leader quickstart manually? I can already hear all the complaints about people exiting again as soon as they spawn because the leader went in before they were ready. Role-change or whatever.

It has been over a month since the discussion and poll for a ring of wealth update and it passed. Have you guys forgotten about it?
The Ring of wealth poll ended on the 25th of July so it's only been a couple of weeks. It hasn't been forgotten.

Whoops. It feels like a month. Thanks for the update.

No what's dodgy is your defense of a members only item being allowed in F2P.
No, we have chosen to add some copies of members' items to LMS on F2P worlds...
Thank you for admitting that they have indeed spent unecessary resources providing P2P content to F2P players.

Ah, you're upset because we're giving away freebies that you'd paid for. Fine, I'll explain.
Yes, I think it's unreasonable to provide things that members have paid for to those that have not paid for that content. In all honesty, 1 month of mems is cheap, less than 1 hour of work, so the price for mems doesn't upset me at all, just stupid for the business is all. I mean in 1 hour of OT for myself I can get over 3 months worth of mems on RS. So rly it's not any issue for me, I would save money and Jagex would lose money, their loss not mine. What I mean is why pay the devs at all if they're just going to give P2P content away for free? Making content F2P isn't helpful to the game at all; no mems = no $$ for Jagex. I'm sorry you don't understand simple business practices, but maybe when you have a degree like myself you'll understand why giving P2P content away for free is harmful to the game itself.

... from a mod that has helped RS decline more and more every year...
I've seen players complaining about RS declining year on year as far back as 2004 when I was just a player myself...Anyway, I get that you don't like us doing limited free samples.
Lol if you've been around that long then you would know what happened Dec. 2007. And giving away P2P content to F2P players will end with the same result... if you don't know what I'm talking about, then you didn't come to this game til after 2008..
You're being extremely rude to a JMod that spends all day, all night, and sometimes all morning (before waking up early to go to work some more) trying to pump out good and timely updates for you. It's understandable that you think there are flaws, and you're doing right by voicing them, however, Mod Ash (of all people) should not be the target of your rants. If you knew how hard he worked you'd probably think a bit differently.

Most likely Kieren will be implementing this one. I would personally implement it by letting you pull the lever, get food within a tick or so, and move away freely, if players were okay with it being sped up at all.

That would be possible, though I'd hope a leader who actually wants to get into a game will have the sense to wait for their team to be ready.

Yes, I have freely "admitted" something that is written in the newspost
While a limited freebie preview may seem unnecessary to you, it's also no secret that we care about encouraging non-members to subscribe. If people don't subscribe, the game goes away. And we hope that having a teaser of P2P items may encourage more F2P to subscribe to get proper access to the weapons.
We also spend time - that you may consider unnecessary - advertising the game, writing features that you personally don't care about, supporting colleagues in other departments on different Jagex products, etc.
You are entirely entitled to complain that that's not how you want our dev time spent, but I'm afraid we cannot offer to disregard all these other matters.

Again, their access to it is incredibly limited. As a member you get to do a lot more with it, and use it in more than one small minigame.
As a member, you have access to a vast amount of stuff that F2P don't have. If you feel that it's not worth the fee now that F2P players can spend a few minutes running around a little arena trying out a fancy item that might encourage them to subscribe to get a real one, that's entirely your decision, but we would hope most players will see it differently.

Thank you for clarifying that you have a degree. I respect your academic qualification.
We've found through a decade's worth of data that giving F2P players something that's fun and engaging encourages them to subscribe.
Giving them exact parity with members would not be sensible. However, if you're claiming that we have given them parity with members through this teaser access to an item in a small arena, I'm afraid we'll have to disagree.

Yup, I've been in RS since 2002, and I remember the end of 2007 well enough to know that you're drawing a very tenuous comparison between 2008's excessive anti-RWT measures and the use of teaser adverts.
I'm sorry you are not happy with the update, but I've explained why we feel this sort of thing is reasonable, and I'm afraid we don't intend to remove it in response to your complaint.
