YES. YES YES YES. To everything except the new skill, I don't think we need it. The map increase should be fantastic though, looking forward to that, I hope it's open to all players, not just those with combat levels! :)

I love the new update ideas, great job OSRS team. But what we're missing is a range update of some sort. Something to give rangers a fighting chance in the Wilderness. Something that makes range worth using in a PvP situation. Perhaps a more powerful bow, like the Zaryte bow in the Pre-EoC era. Maybe an add on to the Crystal bow. It's almost impossible to get a kill with only range unless you're risking full Void. Perhaps an amulet that increases ranged Strength? Melee has all types of Armour and amulets and boots that increase strength. So why doesn't range? Magic users have Staves that increase power. And all rangers have are different bolts and ammunition. We need a more powerful weapon. I've got plenty ideas if you need some help with that.

As for a new skill, seems a bit too early. Especially as a PDC, mainly getting the base skill idea can come from the community but nty to bigredjapanscape skill. IMO theyve both been poor PDC.

As a skiller, maxing all 99s takes 2500~ efficient hours, this isnt including quests, trading, and usually post 99 runecrafting to afford all of the buyable 99s. So well over 2500 hours. Based on the players getting close and all those facts, you may be lucky to have 50 maxed players by the end of 2014.

I think instead of another skill we should be looking towards making some skills more useful and more incentive for people to train them while not totally destroying the xp rates of them and thus making people actually try to get them.

Construction is a main one, total money sink which is fine and the POH is nice but limited and no one really visits them. Construction could have plenty of uses around any town with build hotspots that are just seen by the player etc to perhaps modify other skilling aspects slightly.

That is just one example but its accurate and I think our focus should be on that rather than adding more skills. A easy list is like construction/firemaking/smithing/hunting etc. The only really perfect skill is runecrafting.

Everything sounds wonderful. You guys are really conjuring up some great ideas and should continue to do so! You'll have to be careful with the idea of the new skill though. Simply keep Old School as Old School as possible, AKA original! Aside from that, everything looks great. It's nice to see that the OSRS community is this organized aswell planning ahead for the future. Your (above) average zerker

I agree with Daubz, there are so many skills that could be made more useful (Agility/FM/Con/Hunter etc) instead of introducing a whole new skill. It would be logical to improve upon existing content rather than ignoring it for the sake of new content.

Areas for improvement are myriad and don't necessarily have to enhance experience/hour (devaluation). Small, but useful, updates that give players incentive to train particular skills would encourage a more holistic playstyle amongst the general population. I don't see the downside of this, as skilling is a large part of OSRS and there should be more incentive to train the less "useful" skills.

Focus on FREE TO PLAY first, (I understand the whole botting issue, but could you give us a little more information on how long it might be until a proper anti-bot engine is installed into the systems?) Free to Play would not decrease the amount of people paying to play the game as a member (it would increase it if anything) and it would create more economic balance for the items that more new-accounts acquire the most of (certain logs, ingredients, etc.). This would also create a fuller community. HOWEVER: Free-to-Play players should have some sort of voting restriction, or be unable to vote in the polls at all. (I'm sure you already knew that). I have so many friends that want to play the game, but don't want to commit with the monthly membership fee. If they got to play on F2P, I have no doubt in my mind that they would become members. I've been playing this game since I was seven years old (yeah yeah, I was one of those noobs) but I've grown to really understand the trends of the game over the many years I have played. One thing is certain: free-to-play would make the game skyrocket in quality and community.
