Jagex doesn't need to poll holiday events. They are temporary and a Runescape tradition. I see nothing wrong with it.
Yet, they've polled EVERY holiday event previous.
EVERY one. No exceptions...

Why release a community event if you're going to instance it? Seriously it defeats the whole purpose. I didn't really like the event due to the fact it was an empty area and was too quick. You guys made this same mistake with last year's Easter event by instancing it.
Last year we at least had an area with people we could hang out with after the event, where they collected some extra Easter eggs by shooting the chocolate creatures with the gun.
I also agree with Avid Spar* that content like the Chronicle book needs to be polled. If it was just a purely cosmetic book you can wield I wouldn't have mind, but it isn't.
On a plus note, I did like that the glass elevator in the factory was a reference to the Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator book (the sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

A questions asked by runescape players since the first year there was event for every holiday! I don't think they've ever given an answer!
