Just my thoughts on this...

Why exactly can players take the 28 most valuable stacks from someones bank? This mechanic makes skilling pointless. You spend an hour gathering materials (that is, if you don't die) only for someone to kill you and take literally everything you just gathered, even if it is 1000 logs, ore, or fish. Same goes with tools. Being as easy as it is to die, there should be a way to protect your tools. If the wilderness runite rocks are any example of what skilling spots will be like, you'll be using bronze tools for 99% of your gathering. That is, if you can get past the lumbridge gates without getting mowed down.

I haven't played this mode and probably don't plan to (I don't play the game right now, just checking in), but as important as non-combat skills will be in this game, the ones who dedicate themselves to training them are going to get screwed over by world hoppers. They'll have a high level in a skill (if they protect it) and absolutely no material items to show for it. Why protect a non-combat skill when you can train combat and go raid someone elses bank for thousands of items at once?

As I've said before, I don't see this game mode lasting more than a month or two.

With the bank issue, why if you get killed you lose a whole stack however you can't protect a whole stack? that makes absolutely no sense. It should work both ways. If I die I expect to lose 28 lobsters out of 100, not 100! If not 28 then let me be able to protect my whole 100 lobsters?

Another Issue, PKing... Level 3's getting targeted by level 50s... I really do not need to say more!

I feel as though you guys have made this mode so difficult so people have no choice but to make a second account to train on or protect the other account or whatever. No doubt in the hope of reaping more profits from us guys.

Otherwise I quite enjoy the mode.

I hope someone important can see this and think of a way to make the mode fairer for everyone as a hole. Yes it has to be challenging but not to the point where you lose 28 valuable stacks from your bank? At least make it 28 RANDOM stacks or make it so you have the option to protect stackable items!

So it seems by reading through various posts in this thread that you can lose your most valuable 28 items etc when killed by an monster even if you are NOT skulled.

This is absolutely ridiculous and makes no sense whatsoever.

It should be only be if you are skulled.

I did ask for some clarification on this on page 10 of this thread but it has been completely ignored.

I notice rather than answer me you have just simply edited the blog on the front page to now include "have not taken damage from a player".

I'm thinking since when u die you lose half of your xp in all unprotected skills,

why not give a quarter of lost xp to the killer?
you will finally be able to train skilling by pking plus,this will make people wanna kill others more and make deadman a little more interesting?
I mean since all this xp is being wasted and xp wasting is frowned on why not give alil to the killer

It is unfair to lose 28 item's from bank when you are NOT skulled,If you are skulled you should drop a key and NOT every death un-skulled. It is unfair to be trying to train and loose all 28 banked item's when not being skulled. I can understand losing the exp/items worn but to not skull and be treated just as harshly? Not fair one bit.

Exactly. This is infuriating. Deadman shouldn't have taken ANY worlds from the previous normal list, much less EIGHT.

I like deadman mode, and I expect to play it a lot once it gets rebalanced significantly.

I don't know how to feel about the fact that GP is fairly worthless. Runescape always has this predispotion towards devaluing GP just due to the way the economy works, but GP ends up becoming a junk bond-type object that you want to get rid of as quickly as possible, in exchange for rare melee/slayer items that fit easily in a deposit box.

Solution: You can exchange, at a 1:x (1:2?) ratio coins for insured-GP, and a 1:1 ratio for insured-GP to GP. Obviously there's a pretty strong incentive to not insure your money because you irredeemably half its value immediately, but at least the GP economy doesn't suffer.
