Life's short if you or oldschool runecape want to survive try to extend it's current state by ten years because in a hundred maybe we will be gone but making hasty changes will make ground zero day come much sooner.

Could there be some new kinds of implings when sailing? A pirate, fishy and a mermaid impling for example?

Also had the idea of shooting a rare bird down for a chance to get its eye to enable rigour prayer.

Good/bad ideas?

I'm really glad to see the Oldschool team wants to keep oldschool a different game. Summoning or Dung wouldn't fit in well I think. Thank you for keeping me hopeful that I'll be able to play this game for years to come!

ALSO!

Is there any talk about maybe having bonfires to add more variety into firemaking skill? Random though. Thanks team!

When explaining why you didn't offer us Dungeoneering or Summoning instead, you stated that their rewards were powerful and game changing. Why do rewards have to define a skill? I don't think most players who are asking for either of these skills want them exactly as they were in the main game. This is because the original rewards would be unbalanced for our version of Runescape.

I believe much of the appeal of Dungeoneering specifically came from the fact that prior to release, a "raid" style encounter was absent from the game. With billions of possible floor combinations, players were exposed to a diverse range of scenarios.

While I'm aware we are unlikely to see Dungeoneering or Summoning in OSRS, I encourage the team to consider what is it about these skills that players liked so much. If Sailing incorporates elements of unpredictability from voyage to voyage, the skill could be the most popular in OSRS.

As for solo players being able to achieve the best experience rates, I'm unsure what the point in teaming up would be then. There should be an incentive to form teams and cooperate, even if the incentive is small. By allowing solo players to perform just as well as teams, there will be less reason for a "Sailing community" to form. Is this ideal? Dungeoneering was flawed initially with solo rates being so mediocre that efficient players were forced to team up, I wouldn't want this again. However, without an incentive to make a team, why bother?

To conclude, I have high expectations for Sailing and believe that this skill has potential if training is engaging and randomness/unpredictability is included.

Some very good points. If sailing xp is flat (ie not dependant on how many sailors) then the advantage of larger teams would be on gathering loot/resources quicker and not Sailing xp per se.

Please dont go through with this nonsense sailing skill...Don't you see you are making the same mistakes as jagex did in 2008. You are just going to split the oldschool community up and half will quit. Are already taking a huge leap with zeah..Why try ruining it with this joke of a skill? Im sure you will find a way to make it pass a poll by wording it well like you do with other polls you are determined to pass...Please reconsider actually doing this and keep it as the april fools joke that it is

Personally, i don't care much for Sailing as a skill and it sounds a bit ridiculous. Each time they try to introduce a new skill it's always Sailing. They must be really fixed on the idea.... The only thing that made me hate the idea less was the idea of having new monsters/areas, which might make Slayer more vast as a skill. Although, this has more to do with my enjoyment of Slayer than the idea of Sailing.

On another topic, I know people don't want Osrs to be a copy of Eoc but certain parts of the pre eoc game are missing, parts that were
huge hits
. I like new updates/completely new content, but i would prefer that to be done after they return the classics to osrs: Soul wars/Dungeoneering, etc... I would be fine if Dungeoneering were to be classified as a minigame. I would also be fine if the rewards were altered in order to not effect Osrs. I just don't understand the point of implementing a skill that may be taken negatively rather than implementing something that will be a total success.

Just my opinion.. Either way, will be nice to add something to the game. Keep up the good work.

please do summoning and dung instead. Since the ideas, systems etc is already there dev it. I think old school runescape is just pre eoc. ofc feel free to balance the rewards of summ and dung so the polls pass. for me dungeonering was just a great skill to do. rushing trough the floors doing the puzzles in each room... hehe it was great. would have loved to see that again.
