They already explained this in the dev blog, but sure I'll bite.

The skill, as laid out in the preliminary information, seems like it will essentially function as a link between current content, new expressions of that content, and entirely new content. The skill appears to be primarily driven by exploration, which I expect means that training will likely revolve around players' ability to create the right ships and pilot them in the right ways to encounter new experiences and areas.

Seems to me it'll fit in quite well if designed properly, and I think your bias here is clouding your judgement on the possibilities Sailing could bring to the game.

and by the way people are totally agains a skill that never existed on runescape and want sumonning? sumonning, really? nope, sumonning shouldnt be realeased on OSRS

I got thru page 10 and it's just surreal how many people are NOT wanting this.

It could be something I'd support but, since it was SAN'S idea and you don't even want to give him credit.. maybe it's not so supportable after all (I mean, I have to see BigRedJapan on EVERY agility rooftop, and ya'll are simply stealing San's idea without even acknowledging it).

Yeah, go ahead and hide this post but fact of the matter is it's San's idea and just too hard to support it knowing he doesn't get credit in any way.

If you read the dev blog it clearly states there are 3 main ways to train it. If buliding boats like con isn't you're cup of tea there will be other methods. Also remember this is only the first dev blog, they will take our feedback. If people don't want to build ships as the primary training method jagex will make sure that building ships isn't the primary training method. What we want will be integral to how this is made.

I scroll down to the bottom of this page and i see that osrs+rs3 is still owned by jagex but i cant compute that jagex wants OLD SCHOOL to have sailing...I believe literally anything no matter how much it goes against the reason most osrs players play osrs will have a chance to go into **rs
With the exception of EOC ofc

Im just going to do my best to ignore talk about sailing.I cant keep it out of osrs and it makes me sad seeing osrs turn into this type of game a second time Bonfire ahead

Jagexed AGAIN.

I also made a detailed suggestion for sailing for a player designed skill before ever hearing about san's idea or several other's ideas who also did a suggestion for sailing. San is definitely not the only person to suggest it and the idea for it has been around for a long time, there is no problem with not giving san credit as long as they don't do it exactly as he/she suggested.
