I have a few suggestions for this mode.
Time of day and weather. This would make Firemaking a necessity at night time. The field of view would reduce for players during dark hours and carrying a light source or creating a fire would undo the vision reduction. The higher level Firemaking of the player, the longer the duration of the fire , stacked with the type of logs. Adds to the whole survival aspect.
Weather could come in varieties of fog, rain, thunderstorms, snow and cave quakes depending on zone.
Fog might be something that occurs all over Glienor randomly, but snow would only fall in the northern sects like Rellekka and the mountains. Just like in the main game, snow would reduce energy quicker and fog would clog up field of view similar to nighttime and also reduce the minimap.
Rain might put out fires quicker and dampen farm patches naturally. Thunderstorms may spawn in high level monsters that drop vital skill resources. For example Zombies spawn and when killed, drop a large variety of bones. You could re-include the old hostile randoms that way.
Cave quakes might cause small peck damage to players in dungeons and mines, and increase the chance of Rock Golem spawns when mining. You could even go as far as cave ins where the player has to mine away at the entrance/exits to escape the mine/dungeon.
I do think that the more survival aspects that are added to this mode , the more vital skills will be for the greater risk-reward alongside the world PvP.
