Here's how it will actually play out:

two servers for this? Lumbridge is filled to the rim with about 1385178351 players. Anyone who steps one millimeter outside the safezone will be immediately attacked by hoards of players 'trying out deadman mode'.


Ok, how are you going to train fishing at all like this? Especially the first day. You won't even make it to the fishing spot until the player count near lumbridge thins out. If you do miraculously make it to the spot over in al kharid, you'd want to camp there for as long as possible. 5x experience will suddenly seem quite reasonable in this situation. It might take you hours just to reach the fishing spot!!

I don't think people are really thinking of the ACTUAL logistics to training skills. It is gonna be one hilarious cluster @$^@$^ the first day.



I voted yes to deadman, but I can already envision the issues.


Oh ya, you made it to fishing after 2 hours, and you are getting huge xp, but then you'd want to cook them also. Rofl, that's already 2 skills you would want to protect.

And then you will start to see players making loads of mule accounts for specific purposes (one for cooking, one to do runecrafting), each one having to be a member. Do you see what I'm getting at? Those without mules would be at a huge disadvantage.


I know you can protect 5 skills, but I'm just using this as an example.

^ Yes 30 people clans making massive profits killing level 3s and selling those bronze swords and inventories full of shrimp to the Lumbridge general store.
While we wont truly know until the time comes it reminds me of those people saying others were going to go around dealing damage to every enemy they saw to troll ironmen.
I want this to be cut-throat but I really don't think high leveled players will bother killing level 4's for loot making themselves a target with a skull for several minutes and being stuck out of useful areas especially for early game.
While I understand the worries of mules to keep items safe a mule for just a skill like crafting law runes is surely running a greater risk than your normal higher leveled ironman having teleports and whatnot.

Will there be trading allowed? If so then what would stop high level players to put their loot onto a separate account that could be used just to hold their stuff? This would inhibit other players from raiding that persons bank and effectively allow the skulled person (or group of people) to just continue killing players with only their inventory and some xp at risk.

Its a option that pretty much only effects the people who want it

The vote is asking people how many players will likely be playing deadman mode and if they should focus on making it instead of focusing on osrs alone for a bit.

When someone is killed, the killed-one's name, location, killer's name, exp lost, and worth lost is displayed for everyone to see.

I think this is a good idea honestly after I thought for it for a while, but I think that the prices of everything will be very high and not only that, it is likely that the coin is going to be much more expensive in deadman mode compared to the real game so there shouldn't be much of a fear of people being less self-sufficient.

You think so? Sure there will be a smaller supply but there will also be a smaller demand and for a smaller amount too. I think it's safer to say there will be a greater disparity in wealth as it will be accumulated by the successful player killers and lost by the poorer unsuccessful ones.

Hmmm, it's kind of hard to theorize this. We'll have to see what happens, but I can understand why people don't really want grand-exchange and all that. At the same time though, I want everyone to be self-sufficient, and grand-exchange kind of supports that. All grand-exchange really does is get through things quicker. Though at the same time I actually would like it so that everyone has to go fetch for everything on their own instead of walk up to a big exchange thing and buy everything they need. We'll see what happens though.
