What in the world Jagex. You never told us that you were going to keep bringing them back annually. That was not mentioned in the back up plan. Why must you deceive us so.
This idea of bringing them back annually is stupid. They will crash to nothing every year and only rise to the price of 5k. Just let every1 get 1 rare and be done with it. (the trade-able ones)
Actually... if you took them time to read... it WAS in the back-up plan.

Anyway, we can all tell who the newer players are complaining about rares not being rare and whining about them being worthless. Holiday items were never meant to be rare items they were meant to be fun items, nothing more. Even if they implemented rares the way they did back when they first came out the rares would still be going for 50k or less because there are so many of them, the only reason they are so much in EoC is because people threw them away like they were trash, which back then they were. The fact that there are so few of them now is why there are so many of them. People will be hanging onto them thinking they are were something but in reality everyone will have one so no one will want them, making them as worthless as they would be if they weren't discontinued.
Basic economics folks. Supply and demand.
