Support, but x10 would be too easy. That's like level 1 - 50 in 10 minutes in certain skills. Okay with the multiplier, x1-5 would be better though.


I think most people want fast gameplay and not the grind you get in the normal runescape servers (although with a x10 multiplier it's still a grind). Maybe if you can select 5 (non combat skills) that will never degrade even if you die, I can see it work with a lower rate than x10.

And about the new accounts you have to make, maybe you're right.

Dividing The Player Base:

We have the standard Runescape account and by bastardized popularization we introduced Ironman Mode, and the absurd Ironman Mode. Currently we don't have enough players to fill our worlds, or their content. Zeah is on its way! We can't afford to split our player base further.


Our Current PvP Is In Trouble:

PvP is currently no risk, no reward, and always being ddosed. If you introduce Deadman Mode and people leave our current PvP it will die out. Furthermore, Deadman Mode will become ddosed like current PvP.


Player WILL QUIT:

Let's transition perfectly into the ddos issue. Players will be punished to the point of no sympathy. All of their beloved work will be gone and so will their admiration for this game.


Do you really want to do this!? Just because Mat K said it was a cool idea on stream? Should we let the game as a whole suffer for the mistake of one person? Let's see, why is this familiar? Oh, right, Evolution of Combat and Mod Mark. Our game has quickly dropped from 50K to 40K player base. Our game has made a 10,000 USD PvP tournament to try to hype PvP. PvP is already in trouble as is all of our unfulfilled content. Please CANCEL this terrible update before it's too late. I get people are blinded by hype, but maybe they should take a second to consider the risks this update will bring.

I seem to remember posting an idea for this about a decade ago.
Needless to say, it sounds like a great mode to me.

Three ideas, though.

1. XP multiplier
Losing half of your xp every time you die is a great idea, but with the grindy nature of runescape, it needs to be offset in someway.

2. Random spawns
Otherwise spawn camping is way too easy to do. Plus, random spawns produce an element of the unexpected, which will help with the depression of dying.

3. Same accounts
Since it is a different world, unlike ironman, (which I am, made me come back to this game after years) being able to use the same account would ensure a steady playerbase. Being able to log in at any time and play, instead of having to log in to a separate account as well as pay for one.

Cancel this update Please! Waste of Developer time, and it would only cause people to have mules. I know I would quit if I died in this mode. Never ever will I support a mode that drops your xp and allows someone to take your bank.
