This might have been said quite a few times, I don't know. I didn't read through everything. But wouldn't be the trading post, as it sits now, together with an automated GE-like buying system the perfect solution?

1) You can only sell stuff in the trading post while being online, so the market offers what the market has and you can see the price everyone is selling for and set the price you would actually want for your items.

2) Without Buy-offers in the trading post, no one can buy bulk of items at a certain price at once, nor have automatic buying when a trade pops in. Which stops people from mass-buying and merchanting and as soon as something enters the trade post everyone has the same chance of getting the item.

3) With the automated buying system I mean that you can just buy the item in the trading post, no need to meet up, no need to hop worlds, just have the 2 players both be online.

I hope I made clear of my vision on this problem? And in my opinion, the effects of merchanters and price-affecters are even smaller this way then they are right now.

No. Just no!

There were alot of people who quit because of Grand Exchange. I'm going to quit if it gets introduced.

I think the trading post is great. Maybe allow people to put buy offers as well. But let people trade face to face.

I'm really not a fan of the Grand Exchange personally. Although there won't be a trade limit and such, you still base the prices on the average buy and sell offer. Who's to say merchant clans can't come in and still make the prices artificially higher, thus also changing the normal price of an item when you trade a player normally (the price checker when you trade)? Anyone who isn't familiar with that would just assume that's the price of the item itself, so they might end up paying more than they have to. I really don't see why we would need something like this.

I'd sooner have just a plain price checker when trading with players or just for yourself than to include a whole GE with it. At least that way it saves you the trouble of having to add up all the numbers when you trade with people and you could just put the amount itself
