Firm NO to a GE. Everyone here who actually played back in '07 knows the game definitively changed with November 07 GE update. That in succession with the stake nerf in September and then the Wildy removal and, lastly, free trade removal in Jan '08 signaled in a new era in RS. I still enjoyed the game thereafter but to say the GE was representative of RS 07 as a whole is a flat out lie, and you all know it.

Additionally, I understand why people want the GE; namely, the ease of buying/selling, barriers to getting scammed, and helpful splitting (for pvp drops via lootshare) it brings to the game. That being said, there's also massive price problems that the GE can cause and anyone who was around in 08-11 knows that skilling became progressively unprofitable directly because of the over supply caused by instant access/merching.

So, in my opinion we lose the true essence of 2007scape and OSRS if we just replicate the GE; it was one of the pivotal changes that occurred that transitioned RS into a different era, and if it comes to OSRS it will be no different. I wouldn't necessarily be against some edits or even expansion of the trade post system--I think its working fine, and it's an original way to deal with the challenges some players face in trading while staying to OSRS. However, I think the development team, and Jagex as a whole, need to be clear about their intentions with this game: are these dedicated authentic 07 servers meant for a nostalgic 07 experiences with minor edits and additions based solely on player input; or is this game meant to become something more, and develop its own character irrespective of the demands of staying "old school".

If its the former, I vote trading post with possible compromise on automatic trading; if its the latter, well, I would hope we could at least have an original to OSRS trading station not just recycled RS3 GE garbage*

For the people against the Grand Exchange:

Don't you think it's better that players spend less time trying to buy/sell their items and spend more time actually playing the game?

I see this as a way to have more players filling up activities in the game rather than spending hours trying to find buyers/sellers and hopping constantly to trade someone.

This will also get rid of fake offers.

Grand exchange will just make the game better imo.

What if I told you that buying or selling your items is part of playing the game?

A Grand Exchange will only benefit merchers/flippers and gold sellers.

Keep in mind that a Grand Exchange won't change the supply and demand of items, this is a common mistake people make.

first of all, more than 70% of the player base don't like wasting time spending time buying/selling items and think it isn't part of the game, only a minority like you want actually spend time trading, the grand exchange will make merching easyer but less profitable as everyone will get the cheapest item,if there is no ge a player will buy from a random person who asks the price w/e he wants not looking at the street price and making margins more widely that way,so think before you write something

and for the ones who are saying it makes the game easyer and make people lazy, back in 2007 they couldn't make such a thing as ge yet,its just a time saver, and as you people see it,its like making the 'game' easyer. Then finally you can sell your junk because otherwise you don't have the time to try selling it,you will get your items sold for the right price instead of getting scammed by scum bag merchers who wants to trade manually.Altough there is no trading limit so manually trading will still exist,so both partys get what they want, wanting for half to player base to not have something is pathetic and egoistic

I say yes to ge but it should have limits on what you can buy/sell in a certain duration of time.

1) You can only buy/sell when your online and if you go offline your offer will be frozen until you log back in.

2) the amount of stuff you can buy/sell at a time example you can only buy/sell 1k yew log are raw fish at a time and you will have to wait 2hr for it to refresh. This will allow skilling to remain profitable and prevent people from getting a easy 99

I support automatic trading, but I have some decent ideas to improve it, for example allow the buyer to trade with the seller in any location via trading post and after the trade is over the item/cash is sent directly into the players bank.(The seller doesn't have to be at a trading post only the buyer)

An Example of this scenario that many players have at one point experienced

You attempt to sell some Rannar Weeds in the trading post

Afterwards you leave to do your slayer task/skilling/***

lets say you have task at Gwd to kill spiritual warriors

You Receive a trade offer from a player requesting to buy your Rannar weeds

you go through the trading window and viola the items that have been traded are automatically sent to the bank

And you can continue with your current slayer task.

That's my current solution to the crisis and it prevents bots from selling in bulks and certainly maintains the "Old school feel".
