Just a general reminder to all to keep things on topic, civil and respectful. There's no need for comments claiming that one party isn't allowed to have an opinion because of their skill level, or comments flaming one another because they choose to have a different opinion than another.

Its understandable that not all parties will agree, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Lets not flame each or draw things off topic if we don't happen to agree.

Why did these people play 07scape in the first place when they want to change so much? Shouldve kept to EOC no?

Also the majority of players who want GE are noobs, no amount of political correctness will change that.

You can't just say stuff like "the majority of players who want GE are noobs" if you don't have any data to back that up. Don't try to pass off opinions as facts.

Applejuiceaj, you have to consider that skill level is actually relevant in this discussion. As we lack few other indicators for "overall game experience", total level can be used to gauge the amount of "experience" someone has in OSRS and by extension, whether or not they are likely to have traded often.

1000% support for the G/E. **** manual trading on osrs.

Before any anti-G/E people or change haters look up my osrs hiscores, let it be known that the reason my total level is low on os is because i refuse to play osrs without a simpler trading system, and no the trading post isn't any better than before for me.

I fundamentally disagree with you, Mini Funbarr.

1). Zybez is at the mercy of sellers being online. Your point about quest kits is totally meaningless if no one is online to sell them. With the GE this problem, or rather obstacle, no longer exists.

Frankly, I think this will devalue the quest cape immensely, like it did in Rs3.

2). Offers on **bez "fall off", meaning that you need to constantly update your offers if you wish to buy/sell items. With the GE, you are updated automatically. It requires no attention at all. You just post an offer and wait.

This ideal of "player interaction" you and others throw around is nothing more than strawman. The only people arguing for no GE because "muh player interaction" are NOT the crux of the argument. Stop treating them as such.

3). "Players have to pay merc* price when using Zybez". Not true at all.

You can pay whatever you like, hence the ability to post custom buy offers. It's up to the people with the items whether or not your offer is taken seriously.

I could go on and on, but it's really not worth the time.

Buying items off the GE only works if someone is actually selling them. For quest kits specifically, it is plausible that some items would be very low volume and frequently not available for reasonable prices. This is comparable to no quest kit sellers being online, as the end result is the same - the player has to go gather the item themselves.

I don't consider player interaction valid, as current trading does little to foster increased socialisiation between players IMO. People generally only use that as an excuse to not change trading at all.

Theoretically, you can pay whatever you like on **bez, but in reality, you will have to settle for merc* prices if you want to buy bulk items without spending weeks trading.

I'll leave it at that, but I encourage you to consider the benefits of the GE in the context of OSRS as a whole.

Automatic trading post is a great idea.

Buying items such as dragon bones and other various skilling supplies shouldnt be the
difficult part about skilling, as it takes many hours to get level 99s.

The whole social interaction via trading is pointless, if you are lacking social interaction maybe....talk to you're friends/family?

and yes it will make merching much easier and less effort, which will make it tedious... but hey merchers are selfish and thrive on nothing more than a fat cash stack, so i dont think they deserve the opportunity of achievement in the first place.

at the end all i want is my item(s) and all you want is you're gp..or vice versa, the rest is just fabricated bs.

Unbelievable. A majority of the players vote no to GE so you create a trade post then turn it into a GE like a loophole around the polls.

NO GE!

The above poster doesn't understand that MMO means massively MULTIPLATER

I don't support a full GE, I think the system is fine as is because I now don't have to go to a third party website to find what I want... I have no other suggestion, as I like the challenge of finding my own things and think everyone should have the same "grind" to find items not usually traded. But to each their own. This is the generation that wants everything now, without work.

I bought the bones required for 99 Prayer in under one hour for less than merc* price. Post an offer and see for yourself.

Try accomplishing the same thing for Herblore or Crafting.

I agree with some of what you have stated, but I believe that the benefits of automatic trading outweigh the negative consequences.

I'm logging now so I won't be able to respond to whatever you reply with, but I'll reiterate this; try to consider the effect of automatic trading on the game as a whole, for all players.
