I play the current Runescape, so I will not be checking on any replys to this post. I, however, wanted to pose a rhetorical question to all of the OSRS players out there.
Ever since the EOC was released into the current Runescape, veteran players (mostly) begged for an older version of Runescape to be released. It was on every forums post on the Runescape website until it was released. This caused a tremor in the community and caused many players to switch to OSRS and also caused countless arguments amongst all Runescape players alike.
Players wanted OSRS because it was the game they enjoyed, because it was the game they found challenging. I know this because I have played this game for nine years, and I remember the old days and reminisce about how difficult it was do to a certain task or complete a certain objective. Players got this back with the release of OSRS. I, however, did not change to the older version because I simply did not want to start over. That being said this finally leads me to my rhetorical question:
Why, after all of the countless complaints to Jagex and petitions to bring back an older version of Runescape, would (some of) the players of that very community want to change the game to a similar version of the current game by adding a very similar system compared to the G.E., just so that OSRS would become more convenient like the current game?
Old School Runescape was created because of the UNIQUE play style that Runescape used to be, and I, for one, would laugh in the ignorant faces of those who vote to add an automatic trading system to OSRS. This would completely decimate the very building blocks of why this version of the game even exists, and it seems that the insolence of many of its players will be its destruction.
I apologize if I offended anyone in this post, I simply am passionate about your community because I have lost many close in game friends to this older version of the game.
Thank you for your time,
Altamo
