Surely with that logic, if the spear is better it'll be new spear or bust, if it's worse then it'll still be zam spear or bust..?

yea not a fan of the whole "native american" feel to this update. Especially the blowdart gun. I mean logic would dictate the blowdarts wouldn't even be able to penetrate metal armor unless your lungs can breath with the force of the thousand storms.

We can carry gigantic cannons or millions of coins/runes/ammunition around in an invisible backpack. How is a blowgun penetrating armor even more outrageous than the plethora of illogical things our characters already do?

This game (like most others) is devoid of logic. If it was always 'logical' then it'd be some boring ass sim game.

I understand people crying OP at new high level content but venom should give antidote value again as not everyone will use serpentine helm. On top of this melee DPS still destroys range and magic so giving them two new forms of weapons and a USEFUL special for range is perfectly acceptable. For example, whip on task, constant 50s. Range if you're lucky can hit regular 35s and Mage is completely obsolete outside kraken.

Just don't cry over powered because range and Mage DPS increases. Low levels won't be rek* by venom if they don't have the 65 plus stats to use it. And sanfew serum is super anti poison and super restore, thus adding use to another item.

I do agree that new high tier capes should be added from this tribrid boss for each skill, and new high tier helmets from another. Not two range /Mage weeps and a new melee helm. But I'm trying to promote balance, which many people say is over powered but to each their own.

Excited for this update, hopefully it'll be a fun money making boss!

The problem is that it also increases dps in PvP and doesn't really do anything for PvM. Magic does not need to be any better in PvP as it is very close to how it should be. It is already extremely accurate, the +8 higher mage attack is not needed and will just make full mage gear even more obsolete for me as it just makes tank gear that more effective. I can already hit near constantly with just a mage bonus of 74-76.

I'm not sure what jagex is thinking by giving SoT* even higher accuracy, as mage certainly doesn't need it.

Many low levelish players have 75 range and I've been using SoT* since level 61. I could have been using it as early as lvl 55 if I kept my prayer lower.

Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.

@imp, oh I don't argue it may hurt lower levels in pvp but I was referring more so to the venom effect itself. But theoretically if pures aren't wearing the serpentine helm and two doses of anti poison are needed, wouldn't the time spent consuming pots off set a lot of the DPS, considering the 25% chance in venom triggering?

Again until I'm certain on the mechanics of it I don't want to throw out numbers or make crazy assumptions I can't back up, just food for thought.

EDIT: I think the idea behind boosting sot* accuracy is possibly helping its viability in Pvm situations to rival that of trident since trident is so much cheaper. But to this I'd think the wiser solution is increase it's attack speed one in pvm and not alter pvp as much. Of course if there's plans for actual tank gear that proves useful stemming from Zeah, I suppose we just have to wait and see how well it can be balanced.

The Fang is gonna crash really fast because the number of people that are gonna be attaching it to trident and Sot*...wont be enough....
To make it the snake boss and its drops really consistent...i think fangs should be also be attachable to zammy spears to make them actually be worth something for a decent while
And its totally upto you guys or the people that actually care enough to comment on this thread like slay helm and cams :p what the actual bonus of the fang on zammy spear would be?
It could be anywhere between +1 to +4 str with a +1 to +4 stab? AND/OR just the ability to 1/4 chance , 1/6 chance or 1/10 chance to badly poision corp since corp isnt immune to posion ... ( hence acutally giving the poision cap an actual real solid reason )
Thoughts?comments? :)

Awesome, I love all of it.

Now my concerns, how will these items be handled on death? People have pointed out a serious issue that these items could be used in and that's one iteming in pvp. I think if you die with the item all charges or shards should be lost on death no matter what. So if you load a blowdart with 500 darts and scales or whatever all of that is lost on death no matter what.

Thoughts? I don't expect support but I do expect people to think about it with reason. These items are pretty powerful and it would be a shame to see them reduced to just one item rag weapons with absolutely no penalty for dying with them.

Short Version.
All of these items should loose their charges regardless if you keep them or not. Like you cant keep your rune stacks on death you shouldn't be able to keep your charges on these new items either.
