In my opinion the trading post will be useless because almost everyone knows Zybez.
My suggestion is to create a big trading centre where players can meet and interact. Just like the G.E. That place should be easy to reach for everyone. (Varrock?)
Now for the trading system I would suggest the following:
Create a system almost similar to the G.E. Let us post sell and buy offers, but as soon as you log out, the offer(s) would be deleted.
Trading with other players seems OK, but there are some huge disadvantages.
What if someone posts an offer and goes AFK-ing in NMZ or splashing chickens?
I would suggest to use the system of the G.E. You need to sell your items or receive them instant instead trading with players.
This part is purely optional and does not reflect on the trading post. It's just my suggestion.
Now, buying items without a guideline can be tricky and can cost you a lot of money. I believe that a guideline price can be created without affecting the economy too much.
Let me explain:
- Player A sells x iron bars for 250gp each. (Posts offer and completes it)
- Player B sells x iron bars for 230gp each. (Posts offer and completes it)
The guideline price would be 240gp per iron bar. This is the average price.
That system needs to calculate the average selling and buying price per item.
If more offers are completed, the guideline price would be more accurate and stable, thus saving you money. If a player logs out, the offer will be deleted and it would NOT affect the guideline price.
