After having read every post, on every page up to this point, one thing stands out above all else... and I find myself wondering why no one else can hear it..

The 'voice' of the old timers has become nothing more than a faint whisper.

Good.

Took long enough.

We can't have PVP, Wildy and BH. You need to get rid of PVP as it is so boring and I speak for alot of people when I say trying to get a fight is hard enough but all people do is run 3 squares into the bank into a safe zone when they are about to die? Its completely boring. Hopefully bounty hunter comes back so everyone can have the best of both worlds where people want single pking and multi pking. Team or solo whatever the case maybe. Release the bounty hunter as it was very first released with craters Im sure this would bring alot of players back who like to single pk with a team and people who also like the buzz of trying to kill someone that has a timer who has alot of loot on them. Its a win win if jagex do it properly.

The Grand Exchange is still in that category at the moment as we'd require significant time and attention from the engine team.

Mod Reach first of all I want to thank the OSRS team and the managers that the desires of the community aren't being ignored.
I'm positively surprised that more Jmods are being hired to meet the wishes and desires of the community (QA tester & GFX artist).

One thing that is holding us (OSRS) back from flourishing and growing is the lack of support of the engine team.
We had to wait over 9 months to get the routefinding update and will have to wait a long time to get their attention again for further updates.

My question is now:
Is there any chance that the OS team will hire an engine developer or is there a possibility that we can borrow an engine dev, who will solely work for the OS team until all the engine work is done and then move back again?

Engine developers are highly sought after, very talented and very expensive people. For the company to spare us a developer, it would both have to be the chosen developers decision to work with/for us and be to the benefit of both the company AND the game. Getting a dedicated developer isn't likely to happen and whilst it's something we'd love, we're not confident it'll ever happen.

What we're working towards is getting time from the Engine team out of the budget of our neighbouring RS3 team. With this, we can occasionally get work dedicated to OSRS and push ut more updates that you, the community, request. This is more likely and something that will satisfy the level of management in-charge of staffing and headcount.

so for a trade solution you need little to no help from the engine team, something that makes finding people easier, no offline/afk trading, and player to player trading...I believe that's what i heard from the QnA yesterday?

I think my voice is still loud enough...may need a megaphone though...

Thanks for the quick answer.
I understand that from a business point of view it is very expensive to hire so many new staff in a short time but I'm sure that there are ways to manage it.

For example did I hear that Jagex is cooperating with universities.
Students who are about to finish their studies have to do an internship (practical training) and this is where Jagex could hire students (for free?) and both would profit from each other (company and student can finish study).

I know that you aren't in a position to decide this all but I'm a bit concerned about getting attention from the engine team this year because MMG wrote a blog that this year will be the year of players etc.
I believe that the engine team will be very busy and won't give us much love :(

World of Warcraft style auction house pleeeeease it would be the best way to resolve this whole w1/ GE argument.. U can sell/ buy X amount of an item on the auction house for a certain amount of time for a small gold fee (slight gp sink there too). Imagine the ***** price guid, but being able to click on an offer an simply buy the item or sell you item to the buyer instantly if you see an offer you like.
