I'm so glad to see some of this stuff happening. And about world 1...
The main problem with trading in world one is all the spam (obviously). So my idea is that, rather than the G.E. which provides no opportunity for haggling or any contact of any kind, an in-game forum is created. It would list trade items either categorically or alphabetically, and you could post offers for either buying or selling for any tradable item. This is similar to the G.E., but rather than the dumb trade of the G.E., the two trading players still have to meet to work out the details. To reiterate, it would be like there was a panel in varrock west bank that could be operated by any player. Once operated, it would open an in-client screen of all different letters of the alphabet. Players would click on the letter that is the beginning of the item they wish to buy or sell,and then put in a negotiable price to the side of their offer. Other players viewing this could PM them directly from the console by clicking their name, and thus a trade is born! I know this probably wouldn't be a perfect solution, but it would work almost as well as the GE while keeping with the old-school tenants.
Once again, you guys are great for all the work you're doing to bring back one of the greatest gaming communities in the world!
