Community mods and content developers can do nothing to solve server/network issues. (A cleaner can't bake bread when the baker is ill) You will never get anything for free. Anyone claiming that is trying to scam, lure or hijack you.

Different teams - the sysadmin team is already doing what they can to ameliorate that. Since Mods Reach and I are content developers, we're not going to be able to help them do it any faster. So there'd be no actual benefit in cancelling all game updates.

People do often ask for "convenience" updates that I - personally - would prefer not to see happen to this old-school game. That said, losing the clue on death, when a PKer can't even pick it up as a reward, is pretty harsh for no benefit, so I don't so much mind having a buyable feature for protecting them.
