After reading all these pages, it seems the general consensus is that range needs more weapons with better specs. I agree with this, as is evident by all the rangers who need to rely on a gmaul spec to KO their target in B.H.
Another big theme seems to be 'risk vs reward', specifically that players aren't going to risk their expensive gear when facing opponents wearing largely untradable items (who just run back and pick up their gear). And most of these untradable items are for melee. Why is there a fighters torso, but no torso for mages or rangers?
The solution would be that all untradables lost in the wilderness are both LOST and DROP GP (or money instantly put in the B.H store for you), because as a pk'er who may be spending 6,500 per bolt it's just a waste of time and money to fight a guy who barely drops anything of value.
So, to simplify for those who don't read the whole thing
1- Range needs better improvements to it's imbues, or add weapons with more spec options. This is the reason people need to hybrid and use a maul as well in order to actually get a KO.
2- Untradables need to be lost on death, and give a reward to the winner of the fight in some way. The reason players aren't risking what they could be is because it's just not financially worth it. Even if they do win the fight, why risk when the opponent is able to pick up most of their stuff again?
