"1) If someone reaches the cap on discounted purchases, just make the price of that item return to what it normally is, but allow us to keep buying the item. So lets say I make reach my limit on stars, well the price should go back up from 75 to whatever the normal price is, and I should be able to continue buying them. At the very least the items should still be purchaseable just without the discount."

I agree that this would be a perfect solution to address any potential abuse. I have a feeling that part of the recent for the recent oddment change was to balance, and reduce the chances of abuse should there be a promo and discount that allows someone to continuously keep playing TH. Perhaps, it was also intended to discourage hoarding of oddments and to encourage people to use them regularly. I think that this suggestion is balanced, and a sensible solution allow people the freedom to use their stored oddments while also eliminating the chance of abuse. Support. :)

With this logic, should we not also limit the usage of keys per day to prevent people from gaining too much XP?

The whole goal was to balance the game. If we are only stopping one area where someone can get massive amounts of XP but leave another, are we not still leaving a problem?

Instead of saying that it was for "balancing" purposes, it should be stated that it was due to a loss of revenue with the oddments "percent off" sales.
Check out my suggestion for a Tears of Guthix Sequel

Whose "whole goal" was to balance the game? Yours? And to "balance" the game we only nee to stop people from getting massive amounts of xp but not gp?

Obviously Jagex's not putting daily buy limit on Portable Skilling Packs and Silverhawk downs. Massive amount of xp can still be gained there. Following your logic, to "balance" the game, Jagex also need to limit the number of bonds players can buy a day too but they obviously don't want to.

I like this idea. Support

The 75% off on oddment store lamps made hearts of ice an irrelevant feature on TH tbh. As much as I hate the idea of the cap I can imagine a lot less keys was needed before it, especially now with every single key you are literally guaranteed a medium prismatic lamp.

But yeah undoubtedly this "balancing" was needed for the mere fact that people got too much xp without ever buying as many keys.

I think the guaranteed prismatic lamp every key is just for this Time to Train promotion.
