I like this new promotion better than most other since it allows me to pick the chest with the category of prize I want the most.

Well i guess you wont ever care about xp gains because TH is not going anywhere anytime soon. Also i find your idea of removing TH abruptly very naive. If they did, what would garuntee jagex profit from membership revenue? increasing membership prices perhaps? But players can just buy membership with bonds so membership revenue wont hold it afloat for very long.
As for general content being released into the game, the game devs and TH team are two seperate dev teams. They could relocate that manpower to make more content for the game but would that still make jagex enough revenue from membership concidering bond paid membership?
TL DR; Removing TH is easier said than done.

Good job editing out the "unless you play on another account" part; you seemingly realized that you played yourself there.
Since you're aware that people can play on multiple accounts, here's another fact about Runescape that you should be aware of: not everyone plays just to gain exp, or even cares about exp at all. I could care less about exp on a normal account anymore whilst TH exists, hence why you don't see exp gains on this account anymore for the time being. Rest assured though that I still play RS3.
