It would show a flagrant amount of moneygrubbing, lack of restraint and total lack of respect for the players. Something that this whole announcement was trying to dispel in the first place.
Fullblown non-playing lurker since 26/06/17. May come back if both the devs and the MTX team get their bloody act together.

Yes, Jagex is selling xp. They never said they weren't going to.

Yes, Burger King is selling whoppers. They never said they weren't going to.

Just that some players don't like xp lamps and whoppers don't mean all the world's businesses have to cater to them. There are also some customers who want xp lamps in online games and whoppers for meals.

Nobody is "sweeping anything under the rug". Jagex is going to sell xp. They don't hide the fact. Burger King is going to sell whoppers. They don't sweep it under the rug. They ADVERTISED it.

In case you don't like whoppers... no problem. Perhaps you will like double whoppers. In case you don't like xp lamps.... no problem. Perhaps you will like the new SHINY version of the maps that gives double xp in a couple of days.

Be happy with and enjoy your SHINY xp lamps and DOUBLE whoppers. ;)

Just because a small minority doesnt like mtx doesnt mean they are "disrespecting" the whole community. Yes, because the TH forum is full of people thanking Jagex for their wonderous attempts at selling xp.

Not every player visits the forums. Not every player posts on the forums, and guess what, not every player complains about stuff. A small vocal selection is not necessarily indicitive of the wider opinion.


Much like the rest of the customer service and retail industry complaints and negative feed back are always highlighted above and beyond the good.

Draco, I've seen no substantial evidence to support your idea of people being critical of mtx being a minority.

Dan, you raise good points and props to you for that. However, that also does not mean the larger selection supports it either. The point of my post was there's no evidence to support people being critical of mtx being the 'minority'.

Of course, since I don't know very many people that actually support it in game and more evidence pointing to the critical side of things... I'm going to lean towards that.
