As far as mtx is concerned I think how people choose to spend their money is their business and not mine, but this was a poorly thought through promotion which Jagex will potentially regret. A wasted revenue generating promo.

It is still RNG based, and running for two weeks instead of the normal few days.

You're completely misunderstanding how this promo works. I can't tell if you've actually run keys through it or just glanced at it... It is still very much completely random. You don't pick your prizes. You can choose when to use power-ups for prizes, but those are randomly generated too each time you use one. You have the option to reject prizes that you don't like, by re-rolling them, but then that is also completely random.

I ran 50 keys through it to give it an honest try, to see if there was anything I was missing. Those 50 keys took me almost 20 minutes to run through, and of all of the bxp stars I got, maybe 10% of the total bxp was able to be put in the actual skill I'm targeting for DXP -- which is absolutely bonkers and a waste of keys.

Normally they run either the rainbow promo for the multipliers, or a protean/prismatic promo so close to DXP

This time they've just completely wiped that off the table for no reason

The players who complained about RNG have their problems with blind choices, some refer it to "gambling", but this is absolutely not the case in this Dwarven Discovery promotion because what we see is what we get and it is up to us to buy the good displayed exactly with our key or not.

Awesome, you can choose whether or not to use your key on the next prize...sooooo if you choose not to use your key, you just indefinitely freeze your treasure hunter and never use it again until after this promo passes, because the next star is a defense bonus exp star that you don't want? Perfect solution. Gamble avoided. You're a genius.

Keep going in circle won't help your argument when in your very first post of this thread you already confessed your are argument semantics that's not even the concern of the players whinning about blind chances and gambling, and then you also added you don't mind randomness. Only that you keep complaining about randomness.

There are infinite situations that we need to make a choice in both real life and in the game to progress, but there is no randomness involved whatsoever. For instance, I am given a choice to accept a low level job and then shown after a year I will be promoted. It is then up to me to take that job or not. There is no randomess.

Time wasting? Apparently not to somebody who claimed one could use 2 keys in 1 second.

I really don't like this promo. I liked the archeology one a lot better that they had last week.

This one is a giant mess tbh
