The following illustration shows that "merchants" that "flip" or "invest" in Partyhats have a negative impact on the economy.

Due to the flip/merch/investing activities, items such as Partyhats, have become artificially hyper-inflated in price and that has resulted in an overpowered game mechanic.

Flip/merch/investing is an "afk" activity and it shouldn't outpace "active" activities, such as pvm, etc. So, flip/merch/investing is overpowered and must be nerfed.

There are a number of ways to nerf it, for example, replenishing the supply of Partyhats will allow flip/merch/investors to hoard or collect Partyhats but reduce the hyper-inflation associated with the decreasing the supply of these items.

And, there are various methods to replenish the supply such as Partyhats on Treasure Hunter.

{Posted previously 22-Mar-2017 to show that flip/merch/investing results in the manipulation of the markets (intentionally or unintentionally) by hoarding which decreases supply; other factors also decrease supply}

As shown in the graphs above, over the last several years the Common Trade Index has exhibited some mild turbulence, even though the graph depicts numerous peaks and valleys, there does not appear to be a significant inflation rate overall.

In contrast, the partyhat graph appears to be an anomaly because the data depicts a rather steep incline in price. It is an incline that does not appear to be proportionate to the population of players which has remained fairly constant over the past several years.

So, it is not an increase in demand, but rather, there is a decrease in supply.

To increase the fun, simply increase the supply such as Partyhats on Treasure Hunter! :D

As the supply increases, market competition also increases because more sellers will emerge and market competition is healthy for a game, and it's fun too because more people can party in the partyhat market!

Catalog of suggestions about Partyhats on Treasure Hunter:

1. Jokku23: All of the original Partyhats on Treasure Hunter

2. Christmas Crackers on Treasure Hunter because that's where Partyhats originated

3. Addition of new colours and Partyhats with sparkly effect

4. Reboot of Yelps Wheel Of Fortune, The Wheel Partyhats Of Fortune

5. Dong U Dead suggested super rare "Diamond" category for Partyhats on Treasure Hunter

5A. Whatusaytome suggests that the super rare category be named Onyx black or Hydrix

6. (A number of people) inspired the suggestion of a tradeable item that may be won on Treaure Hunter which can be combined to make Partyhats (akin to "Salvage" and "Alchemist's Amulet Fragments" )

7. Jokku23 received news from The Ports that many of the recruits had lost party hats to shark attacks. This led to the development of Treasure Hunter "Partyhat Maps" which may be won on Treasure Hunter or traded to those who are inventive and aren't afraid of sharks.
