Another major reason this is needed, is that on this latest Treasure Hunter promotion, wanted to buy many so could get the items; yet as a free player, that isn't possible as would have to destroy many of the items, that is a stupid business model.

Everything that is winnable on Treasure Hunter should be claimable for both F2P, & P2P.... Otherwise the F2Ps won't use Treasure Hunter promotions. ;)

Why would a F2P buy keys to participate in a TH promotion for a members item for a members skill, but not buy memb?

Because as a member the game takes over my life, so currently having a break from it; unless they added Pay As you Go , so i can play on a day basis....

Yet due to being a high level player, I'm not leaving the game, and so play for free currently, there are lots of people like it.

Also due to needing a newer PC to play NXT efficiently, not got a membership currently. ;)

Support.

They allowed F2P to claim members' prizes from Treasure Hunter, they should allow lamps to be banked too.

The more lamps sitting in bank, the greater the incentive to subscribe and use up all those lamps.

Nah.

The more members items you miss out on the more incentive to become member and stop wasting keys.

Nice lolgic there. You've clearly not played a F2P account for too long, if at all.

Did you know that prior to early 2014, every single fallen star, or members' item such as red dragonhide or grimy guams had to be discarded if won on an F2P account? Didn't you think that Jagex would have a very good reason to change that? They changed it so that the members' items would just sit in your bank. Now you can even sell them on GE because it means you can use the gps to buy bonds.

This reverse psychology you're proposing, good luck with it succeeding ;)

I've been playing 11 years. I think I've had a F2P account for quite some time within all that time ;)

Looking back at your post it seems I misread the point of what you said at first.

Regardless..

I've seen it happen plenty of times. F2P wins a huge lamp they can't use, they hold onto it waiting to be able to buy memb to use it. Lamp's aren't regular items, and shouldn't be bankable.

You can sell whatever memb junk items you win in F2P to put towards a bond, sure. Same doesn't apply to lamps though, so there's no point to banking them.

If you want to stockpile memb lamps you've won on F2P your "necessity" to use them as quickly as possible to free up your inventory space again is a nice incentive to entice someone to become a member. That convenience also comes with actually winning whatever you get, more bank space, and not having to waste inventory space just holding onto things in the future.

Let them bank and next complaint will be they can't play because their bankspace is completely filled with stockpiled lamps they can't use, so why not just let them use them.

Well, now I can see where you're coming from, and you do have a point with the inconvenience it's causing. I'd rather use the carrot rather than the stick though.

I can't agree with your last point though. I seriously doubt someone would be able fill up all 468 member bank spaces with lamps... and if they did complain about it, they'd be laughed at. I get that Jagex need to turn a profit, so Treasure Hunter should still provide an indirect incentive to subscribe at the end of the day.

Instead of enticing people to play as a member, having to delete lamps makes the game seem ungenerous; whereas membership is all about it being lavish.

Another stupid Treasure Hunter promotion for F2P, getting x2, x3 lamps, when you've got no where to put them, makes it I've now not got enough space to do a daily divine location....

Which then only makes us resent Treasure Hunter, and less likely to want to be a member....

If it wasn't that i was already aware what membership was about, I'd just stop playing again... Quit last time being an F2P, from having to delete daily Treasure Hunter items.

Not playing as a member until got a new PC to handle NXT, and even then want to come and go from F2P, to P2P, without any drawbacks, as can't handle living in RS all the time.

It would be alright if there was a way to be a member for the day, rather than weeks or a month at a time. ;)
