Bunny ears, like other similar untradeable discontinued items, do have value; they don't have a gp value, since they cannot be traded, but they do have historical value, proof of the account that owns them having played during a certain period of time (depending on which item is in question). If you don't personally care about that, it's fine, but that doesn't mean said value doesn't exist. Some people don't care about gp, yet that doesn't mean gp value isn't a real thing.

Anyhow, comparing the old bunny ears with this new helmet, IMO they look distinct enough from each other, so I don't think the old bunny ears been devalued. I can definitely see the worry though, especially since Jagex has become much like a sellout since the MTX were added. I don't own bunny ears myself, but I still don't support rereleasing them or anything that's too similar to them that would devalue them, since they were meant to be discontinued.
