Shame we can't get ghostweave through skilling this time, considering it was possible when first released, and lasted 11 days. Now we have 15 outfits and 6 days to get them? Very unfriendly promo.

I used 10 Th keys tonight. Only 1 resulted in a prize of ghostweave, at a count of 50 (most of the reset were useless xp stars, though I freeze 10 xp categories whenever I can).

A mere 50 ghostweave from 10 keys. At this rate, I'd need to use 120 keys to make a single 600 weave outfit.

With most most outfits needing over 600 weave, I'd need to spend a fortune on TH keys if I wanted to make several.

I'm sorry, but that is a ridiculous amount of extra money to spend for the small return.

^ This. I spent all my money on keys and got nothing but dozens of fallen stars (what a surprise) and bits of 20 ghostweave here and there, rarely. Not complaining about wasting my money, it was my decision, but come on man, really? Can't they stop this fallen star bs for once???

Thankfully they were nice enough to give all of us enough ghostweave to buy a cheap outfit, I guess >.> Thanks Jagex.

Btw, i'm pretty sure Princess, Guard and Fisher aren't new, just saying.

I'd get them if they were sold as something that won't return. What's so stupid about that? It's very simple, actually.


That mentality is quite sickening. Returning untradable items means you attach your own values to them and don't let others affect your values. Just because someone else enjoys the content doesn't mean your item is now less prestigious. Do you see anyone going around bragging:

"Hey, look at me! I'm the ultimate treasure hunter player by obtaining these exclusive ghost weave!"

I don't think so.

Few pointers-

600 upon log in (non ironman) - thats great, we can take part in the T&T thing if we haven't done it yet for the Sweets/Trick/Treat titles.

No new emote/title. - Being an owner of the originals, I was a bit letdown on this and wont be spending as much getting the new ones because of this.

Ghostweave is unobtainable via Skilling - This is the BIG one for me. The original promo made it so we could get ghostweave while skilling. This will also be a problem for Ironmen.

No new exclusive ghostly outfit - All these seem re-designs of a current outfit/solomon in-game, would of been nice to just have a "ghost" ghost themed one. Even if it's a bedsheet over the character (im looking at you Phasmatys!)
I know nobody will see this signature but sometimes when I am bored - I like to go into my garden, cover myself in dirt and pretend i'm a carrot.

That's not how it is, you're putting words in his mouth.

I worked terribly hard for these outfits when they were released, now the only way to get them is by mtx. I had 15 keys saved up and only got 20 ghostweave. It's not we don't want others to enjoy this content, it's we want to be able to enjoy the content without gambling our money. I have defended Jagex and their use of microtransactions up until now where they threw in an old event and put a price on it. They also just talked about the problems of mtx and a day later they fail to surprise us. I really wish RuneScape could be the amazing game it is without these money additions, I already buy VIP Premier every year to support Jagex.

A little Q&A:

Q: Can you get ghostweave from skilling?
A: No. There was an initial plan to have the ability to get ghostweave in the game, but when plans for hallowe'en were drawn up this got changed. This is why I made sure that players got a good chunk of ghostweave for free when opening TH.

Q: Is ghostweave tradeable?
A: No. We do not want people making a lot of new accounts/using a ton of alts to get lots of free ghostweave from opening TH

Q: Can you get the emote and title from last time?
A: Yes! The requirements for them have been changed to ensure that people can still get them. Also, anyone who, by having a lot of outfits from the first run, who has already hit the requirements for this time, should get them unlocked on login.

Q: Why have you returned discontinued items?
A: They were never stated as being only for the time that it ran the first time. Over the years between we have had a LOT of players ask to have the outfits back, that it was one of their favourite promos.
Because of this we did bring them back. We also added in new outfits to make sure that everyone had something to work towards, if they wanted to.

Q: I did not get my free ghostweave what can I do?
A: You might want to check your bank, it might have gone in there if your inventory is full.
You should have got a message in your chat log saying either that you got the free items, or that you didn't have enough space.
If you didn't have enough space the check should run again when you open TH next time and use a key.
If you still don't have the free ghostweave then please send in a bug report - this gives us information about your account and makes it much easier to track what has gone one.

Q: Why can't we get all of the outfits easily/cheaply?
A: The reason the event is set up like it is, so you can choose which outfits you want rather than having to unlock lower tier ones before you can get newer/higher tier ones, is to give players the choice.
If you want to go for all of the outfits, that's great, but we know that many players will have a favourite that they want and, with the free ghostweave from TH, will be able to get pretty straightforwardly.

Q: Is this what you came up with in reply to the statement?
A: In short - no. This event was designed 4 months ago and has been finished and awaiting upload in to the game for a few weeks now.
This is not a reaction to the recent topics of conversation.
I pitched a cosmetic event for over hallowe'en from the very start, and with all of the requests for a repeated run of ghostweave I saw it as a perfect opportunity.
