This is not only about Elder Gods or Mahjarrat making holes, in fact there is much more Gilenor's area underground than on the surface. Which is rather strange, considering that the dungeons are supposed to be rather an exception than common thing.
Many beings have been tunelling Gilenor for various reasons, in addition to already existing vast natural underground space, so one may ask, why is it all happening? Could all diggers have been manipulated to think that they are digging for their own gain, only to unknowingly serve something else?
Who would want whole planet to look like an anthill, making it more a complex system of underground ''veins'' than a homogenous, lifeless rock? Maybe someone, who would need tunnels for gathering and creating Anima in the future, but knows that he will not have time nor power to build them all himself?
It seems that we should start looking for clues in the tunnels (especially their shape and position), that even their own creators, being blinded by their petty goals while building them, were not aware of.
