For all we know, the White Knights are the bad guys. Don't forget about the business with Valence and the Prince, the control of Falador...
Matters of Church and Matters of State becoming one in the same? That's always bad in both real life AND fantasy.

What if the White Knights are the bad guys, and the Temple Knights are only pretending to ally with them? Trying to find an opening to expose the lies and secrets the White Knights have been keeping? Death of Chivalry 2 could prove to be far more interesting than we could ever imagine..

Only then can they

themselves and forge their own

Could there be a Magister within the White Knight ranks maintaining connections between them and the Temple Knights? And what temple are the Temple Knights guarding exactly?

The First Temple. Unclear if that is still standing. But there's a lot of basing on the rl Knights Templar (although the rl Templars were merely granted quarters on what was believed to be the *site* of the First Temple; They obviously did not exist long enough to guard the actual First Temple).

@ Sepulchre

Unlikely. Why would you consider the dumb honor before reason guys to be the bad guys instead of the secretive ancient conspiracy willing to bend the rules for the "greater good"? White Knights consider lying to be an offense worthy of expulsion, btw. Part of the moral grapplings of one of the protagonists of the novels.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

I honestly think this is gameplay mechanics, and the other knights don't need such massive feats of achievement to rank up. After all, where would all these Kinshra keep coming from??
(This hardly exhonorates the White Knights from what they have done/were planing, however...)
To those cursed by war and pest, Come into the light of Armadyl and rest. This is the law of Armadyl.

Honestly, this kind of thing I con't really consider canon, as opposed to just game play means of having some kind of achievement and rewards to show for it.

Because, really. What kind of Knight Order works on rank up on the basis of 'kill this many'. There's a lot more to it than that!
The kind of Order than wants loyalty, ability and the enthusiasm and capabilities to butcher their eneimies in large quantities. Do not confuse the White Knights with the Temple Knights.
Maybe they just gave us a harder task? They seem very clever. Clever enough to use the one man/woman army that appeared in front of them
NO
I do not ship ZamorakxZaros.
I follow them. And Marimbo, the best t5 god.

Or they were trying to get us killed, to get us out of the way. Little did they know that butcher extraordinaire could achieve the feat without breaking a sweat.

The Temple Knights do not give us ranks based upon our kills. Sir Tiffy, the Temple Knight recruiter, sells us Initiate and Proselyte gear, and so far we cannot advance beyond Proselyte in the Temple Knights.

The White Knights give us ranks based upon our kills. It is Sir Vyvin, the White Knight armourer, who sells us more White armour based upon our Black Knight kills up to Master rank.
What's the most convincing ship in the game?

Right. So the White Knights give out ranks based on genocide and Temple Knights are researching ways to turn everyone into mindless Sarazombies BSitW* That sounds so much better :P

*(Before Salt In the Wound., according to the old story plans which have not yet been invalidated even if they failed ).

Better to keep poking away at people in "Lore FC" while I already knew of the general plot for a while before, a Dev told us (thread campfire, podcast or stream) the original plot line was going to have them torture the player (news to me) and that sea slug mind control was being researched for their own ends. Hopefully the person who noticed and remember the Mod's name and exact source is still with us as some sources are kind of hard to track down.
