We had an interesting discussion in Lore FC today about if we were in charge of a certain sect or denomination of the major RS religions. Kind of like the ones in that alternate reality the innkeeper of the Blue Moon Inn talks about (you know what I'm getting at.)

So, we all have our favored gods and factions. But what if you lead a certain denomination of that religion? What teachings of your god(s) would you emphasize? Would you interpret them literally? Metaphorically? Would you only embrace certain facets?

Discuss what kind of religious leader you would be for your faction!

As a Cywir elf, we believe that Mother Seren will come back to us one day to spread joy and wonder to the homeland. I crave her presence so much...you do not understand how must we lust for her.... Ughhh

In the mean time, we Cywir elves are currently traversing across different homeworlds and purging them of the Creaures of Darkness that inhabits them becausethatisewhatSerenwouldmostdefinitelywant!!!!@&@/$2's!!!! You may see it as hypocritical pacifism but we call it spreading harmony and unification. I hear Helwyr is doing quite a nice job on Gielinor as we speak.

I submissively obey Lady Seren's every whim and relish every waking moment willingly serving her. She is my mistress and I am nothing without her. I am without thought, self-awareness, and being without her. She is my everything.

In the Church of Hazeel, I would preach about power and the individual. Which is to say...do whatever it takes to obtain power, do not hold loyalty to anyone but yourself. Do not worship Zamorak, do not worship your teachers, do not worship me--no matter how tempting it is--and strive not to please us, but to surpass us and, above all else, never stop getting stronger.

I do not expect mercy, nor do I encourage it, but those who I teach would be reminded that senseless killing can, indeed, weaken them. Losing your allies is another blow against your own personal power. I won't tell them when to kill--that's their decision--but I will make them aware of the consequences of needlessly doing so.
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

The Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of Asgarnia (or PECUSA), emphasizing the teachings of love and inclusion, as well as encouraging free thought, doubts, questions and spirijtual exploration.

The wisdom of Saradomin is emphasized through such free thinking pursuits (the denomination existing at the intersection between faith, reason and tradition), as well as the highly educated nature of its members.

Order exists in the common forms of worship/liturgical practice that unite the denomination, rather than a set of prescribed beliefs (see above). These forms of prayer are recorded in the Book of Common Prayer Wisdom, a staple of any Episcopal church. There is a strong commitment to social justice, typical of mainline Saradominist denominations. Unfortunately there's also a discomfort with evangelizing, making many people outside the Saradominist religion unfamiliar with them.

PECUSA ordains both women and the LGBTQIA+ to the clergy, as well as performs same-sex marriages.
The Asgarnian ale must flow.

Out of the two dominant values Saradomin vouches for, Order and Wisdom, I always upheld Wisdom more.

Years ago, there was a saying I used to love back in the time when I was Guthixian: "Balance in all things". I acknowledged that there was merit in everything and even tried to agree with everything and everyone possible.

Since then, I backpedaled on that mentality which coincides with my shift to Saradomin's faction. I still seek to find merit in all arguments possible, but I've been trying less and less to blindly agree all the time and stand my ground some more (which blends into the notion of Order). That being said, my long-term goal lore-wise is global peace and I know from my own adventures and those of Saradomin that peace has a price, sometimes a big one. It is our role to be the wisest possible (does that even make sense?) to finally decide weither the end will truly justify its means.

As for a denomination of the Religion well, except for the Temple Knights and the White Knights, there aren't really any other known denominations in the faction. Knights are more known for establishing order through military means which isn't really my thing. The Sisters of Elspeth are not for me since, well, I'm a guy, so that leaves me with the monks of Edgevile. To be honest, there isn't anything to lead here. They just do their daily routine in their monastery and that's it.

If headcanons are allowed, I guess I could pretend I'm some kind of hierophant to Saradominism. While individuals like Zyliana would be better-suited at establishing Order, I would spread my Wisdom to the empire and beyond, bringing people to think the way I do in an ultimate effort to enlighten the world.

You could create denominations for each faction out of the Wizards' Tower alignment or void stares back/the quest after it if there was one.

You could have blue Saradominists which best embody the original tenets, grey Saradominists like myself who believe in it as a means for community wellbeing + pursuit of knowledge , red Saradominists who are more about personal power or etc. And green Saradominists who are more about balancing things out and being utilitarian?

Or "White, Grey, Black" Saradominists using void knight alignment? The faction is a means but your core alignment depends.

Since Armadyl is my favourite ascended god, community and being nice would be staples in my faction. And this also plays part in my idea for perfection which Sensei Zaros taught me to pursue.

To gain true enlightenment, my goats (I call them this as they don't have to follow the exact path I myself took unlike sheep) would try to perfect themselves through a harmony between light and dark. But unlike Guthix who did nothing and his followers acted only to ensure balance, my faction believes that light and darkness come anyway. They don't create it, they wait for fate to bring it.

Although I follow Zaros, I myself have slight differences to his thoughts. His is the dark I would pursue, while my light is a mix of Armadyl and Seren. By sharing thoughts and sympathizing with each other as the Armadyleans would, my faction can share the bounty of true enlightenment through the Perfect Manji.

By sharing our light and shadows with each other, we can grow stronger. To seek power and knowledge while practising the ways of love and mercy. These would be my ideals.

Then your probably a Blue or Green Zarosian, on the guardian(white) spectrum according to void knight.

My denomination would likely be called the Universalists of the Empty Lord. We acknowledge and respect the divinity of all who've attained godhood.

A lot of time has passed since the God Wars. We believe diplomacy, when possible, between factions is important to Gielinor's prosperity. As gods created by the Elder Gods (Mah specifically), we believe both Seren and Zaros have the birthright to ascend. However since Seren doesn't seem interested in doing so, that is her prerogative.

In our relations with other factions, we draw inspiration from all beliefs of Runescape. Aside from those who clearly wish to create strife and pain. These other faction inspirations include:

1. Armadylean diplomacy
2. Seren's passive tendency
3. Zamorakian admiration of strength through adversity
4. Saradominist value of coming from place of wisdom
5. Godless intolerance for the destructive nature of Tuska and Bandos
6. Marimbo and Brassica Prime's importance in joy
7. Ultimately we revere Zaros above all. Especially his legacy and hands off approach.
TFW You can't decide between support Zamorak or Zaros.
